We can talk about value in the draft but I do believe the Eagles traded players for draft picks to move into the top 10 so its not as bad as your making it appear. What Im talking about right now is that both guys are going to get paid big money and Dallas even with Zeke and Dak cant beat the Rams. Wentz has done it and so has Foles and they did it without a premier franchise RB.
In two years when Dallas is paying Zeke and Dak 50 mil a season and decides to not pay defenders people are going to be saying well Dak doesnt have a defense thats why we didnt win it. Heck thats what they are saying now!
The best player in that draft was Joey Bosa. 23 sacks his first two years in the NFL.
Wnce… 1 broke back up on Dak
Wince... 1 knee tear up on Dak
SB's... zero for both. Wincer leads in the injury derby. He ain't a mudder like Dak
You dont have to like truth but it doesn't change it. There is no defense in this league that plans to stop any 1 of their backs like they focus to stop zeke. You disagree? Load the box, shade a safety to coop and play the rest man on man, That is how they slow us down. Hopefully this changes this year and we start taking advantage of their weaknesses.
I get such a kick out of stats like these. here some more for you
Troy Aikman games played 1st 3 seasons
any player at any time can get hit the wrong way in the NFL and miss some games by your theory we probably should have given up on Aikman due to lack of availability his 1st seasons. Wentz is a better QB and that will be proven out over time
That's a false comparison, its like saying one guy got hurt in a boxing match while the other got hurt in a yoga class.
The 1989 team was the worst team in the league with a horrible OL, Aikman took a pounding on every series. There was a lot of speculation Aikman wouldn't recover, similar to what happened to David Carr in Houston. 1989 was long before the rules changed to protect QBs from taking hits, defenders could take a running start to crush the QB and often did. Wentz played in an era were Randy Gregory was flagged for roughing the passer because he pulled Wentz down by his thighs.
Wentz was playing behind an OL with multiple Pro Bowl players and had a lot less rushing plays than Prescott. Prescott has also been injured in games repeatedly where he didn't leave the game.
His (Wentz) “QBR is up and down?”
Dak’s has gone down every year since his rookie season.
Since their benchmark rookie seasons, each QB has done the following:
Wentz (2017-18; 24 games played)
54 passings TDs
841 pass attempts
18 total fumbles (passing + rushing)
Dak (2017-18; 32 games)
44 Passing TDs
1016 pass attempts
16 total fumbles (passing + rushing)
With Troy you have the benefit of hindsight which the Eagles do not. Right now the only thing anyone can know for sure, Wentz gets hurt a lot and going to back to College has not finished the season 4 consecutive years.
I was not talking stats and Wentz so far has been inconsistent.
If Wentz has been inconsistent, so has Dak. I hope you aren't arguing otherwise.
You can make that claim but the numbers don’t jive with your assertion.
In what specific way has he been inconsistent?
Inconsistencies would bear out in the statistics.
Fans on both sides ignore some of the most important things when comparing which is ridiculous anyway.
Rookie seasons both went into completely different situations despite neither were named starters right before the start of the season.
-Dak got placed into a very good situation, team was built for the most part and was Superbowl ready since 2014.
- Wentz got put into a team in a rebuild that had a rookie HC new system and talent removed from the team by Chip Kelly
Dak has benefitted from not much changing around him " players and staff" While Wentz has had to deal with a bunch of changes each year. Dak for sure showed what he is capable of his rookie season, which is more then enough to win a SB. Wentz, I dont think we have fully seen as he has had some bad luck staying on the field. If you want to blame anyone for the Cowboys not going all the way past 3 seasons blame The Jones family. They have stated time and time again, that its a family business. You want people to run a team worried about performance not the top dollar. That's the biggest difference in the Eagles and Cowboys. Because both teams are really really good right now .
You mean the "Superbowl ready" 2015 Dallas team that went 4-12 the year before Dak arrived?
I have no idea why I haven't put you on the Ignore list.
How come (for the most part) only one fanbase takes Dak over Wentz?
You mean the 2015 Cowboys coming off a 12-4 season and a division title in 2014? Maybe you purposefully misremembered Romo missed all but four games that season.
Can we trade you out for one of theirs? Your only purpose here is to be kicked around. Now you’re embarrassing us by having an Eagles fan come in here and educate you about your own team.
BLAMING?, stats cant be erased. you play good or bad it counts..not giving credit for Daks rookie year is what? hater hater Troll? tjhey count he gets hurt and misses games it counts, bad year good year they all count..thats the point, Daks been better over a given time and Wentz was traded for big draft picks to move up and Dak was 4th rounder how about that>? sits wash but id rather have only given up a 4th rounder then trade away draft pick for similar numbers and more wins
LOL, even your fellow Cowboys fans school you. It is funny how you ignore the fact Romo went down was the reason for that record. Blame the Jones as well for not having a decent enough backup. The simple fact is the Cowboys have been a Superbowl Caliber team " player wise " Jones family being inept to hire a competent staff is hurting the team. Jerry wants a guy he can control which has haunted the team since the great Jimmy J was let go .... I heard it was partly done to cost of his hair products shipping/storage. The reason I have not been banned ? Because people smarter then you can tell a troll from a guy that enjoys talking football. You should actually feel better about your fanbase that Id rather discuss it here then with fellow Eagles fans " who could blame me right "
what im saying is most qbs improve dramatically from their rookie year. Favre was awful, steve young was awful, aaron rodgers was substandard the first year he started. Using rookie year to determine who's better 4 years down the road doesnt really make sense.
Dak has had better stats cumulatively because of his rookie year, sure. But that has no bearing how he is as a qb today.
