I'm not downplaying Romo at all. The problem is you guys are over rating Romo. How many times did Romo win MVP? How many times did he led the league in yards or TDs? How many times was he all-pro? He doesn't have Hall of Fame numbers.
And yet, the numbers say he was a top-10 QB.
We had zero run game and zero defense vs the Rams. Dak kept us in the game anyways by playing like a stud.
Hmm. I’m in the mood for an omelette now. SO MUCH EGG on your face.
And yet the numbers said our passing Offense was in the bottom 3rd of the league for the season.
Just saying....
The OL wasn’t anywhere close to elite this past season. They were average at best, due to injuries.
Dak also didn’t have the elite WR until halfway through the season. His numbers since getting the elite WR? Top 10 in the NFL with a 7-2 W/L record and a playoff win.
Let’s be honest about the facts.
He didn't need them back then.He likely wasn’t taking dementia meds then
This is pathetic. Dak carried the team and brought them back from being down 18 points halfway through the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 31 all with 39 seconds to play in regulation against an Aaron Rodgers led Packers playoff team. To incessantly throw out the "well it's never been done so it can never happen with a rookie QB" mantra simply to ease your pain of watching Romo sit on the bench is pathetic, especially considering Dak as a rookie threw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs in his very first playoff game against a SB Championship proven team... Numbers Romo never reached in any of the 6 playoff games he played in throughout his 10 seasons as a starter.
The Cowboys didn't lose that 2016 division playoff game versus the Packers because of Dak. They lost it because the Defense never showed up and the officials as usual helped out the Packers. To assume Romo could have performed stat-wise better and accomplished game numbers he never once did before, especially at that stage of his career being old, so fragile and easily injured, is unbelievable.
Was that before, after, or during Dak's 11 game win streak his rookie year?
room didnt play at all his first 3 years wasn't active 03-04 and 05 the backup and didnt see a snap..he was gone 3 full years for injurys he Started 8 years that it so that all you can use for stats, the dude could sling it , is simply a better passer then Dak..I said I like Dak I hope he develops even more and becomes great but look again those stats are real averaged over 8 years they are very impressiveHaha you can't take games away and try and use his entire stats. Same thing with saying Romo in his second year threw 36 TDs when he had been in the league much longer than that. Romo developed into a passer but he went undrafted for a reason
Maybe you should send him some of yours, at least Roger spent 15 years taking hits to his head. What's your excuse?
I can't remember the commentator who said it but he said Dak had receivers WIDE OPEN throughout the game.We had zero run game against the Rams because the Rams game planned using Dak's weakness to take away the run game. You might not agree with this view, but that is the view of many different people and analysts.
Don't you get tired of the excuses. Oh, he didn't have a great offensive line. Oh, he didn't have great coaching. Oh, the receivers didn't get out of their break in time. And let be honest about the fact, and admit that most teams have average offensive lines. It's something normal to have, and shouldn't be a reason for excuses if other quarterbacks have to deal with them.
Romo is just Andy Dalton with less interceptions
Nothing new there, honestly, but Dak was the least of the problems in that game. Receivers dropping the ball, the O-line offering as much resistance as masking tape, the defense looking like it was their first day....I can't remember the commentator who said it but he said Dak had receivers WIDE OPEN throughout the game.

Heck, it makes you wonder how ANY quarterback succeeds without superior talent around him. Yet, two quarterbacks get to the Super Bowl every year and one of them wins it all. And last time I checked, the last super team that won the Super Bowl was … the 1992-1993 Dallas Cowboys. I guess Aikman was carried by that team too.
That’s awesome man, good thing I wasn’t using it as an excuse then. I was pointing out that the posters claim of an elite OL were inaccurate.
