weak moves like this
What a complete joke.
This is just yet another mark against the NFL. Now we’re going to start postponing games because of some mild adverse winter weather. Absolutely ridiculous.
I'm guessing you missed this post:
A winter storm warning is in effect for Buffalo and surrounding counties, including Orchard Park in Erie County, the site of the stadium. More than a foot of snow -- and as much as 3 feet -- is expected in the Buffalo area, according to AccuWeather, with winds potentially as high as 65 mph. A travel ban will be put in place at 9 p.m. Saturday.

What’s the reason for moving the game? Obviously the weather. But is it for the safety of the fans? Safety for players getting to the game? Safety during the game? Have they said anything
Apparently safety of the fans. Heavy snow with a severe wind warning, 30-40 mph with gusts.

I don't have much of an issue with moving the game.

The lake effect snow can be difficult to predict. Normally the areas south of lake erie get the brunt of the lake effect. Towns like Erie can get a few feet. That's manageable since they have the equipment. Buffalo is right on the edge of the lake. If the wind is going the exact wrong direction, it can go across the entire lake and then dump on the first land it hits, which is Buffalo. You will see stories of them getting hit with 8+ feet, which is not manageable.

I kind of wonder if people are hedging their bets against a worst case scenario because yeah, 8 inches shouldn't be shutting down a game in Buffalo.

NFL should just make every stadium a dome at this point.
all stadiums should transition into domed stadiums with roofs like ours!!!!
The Chiefs had the chance too. A few years ago the league told them if they domed Arrowhead they would get a Super Bowl. It went on the ballot for an very small increase in the sales tax to fund it and the idiot fans in Kansas City voted NO. The estimated cost to cover Arrowhead was less than the city would have made off hosting a Super Bowl.

It’s not the cold. It’s just time for them to get roads cleared I’m sure so people can actually make it to the stadium.
Boo hoo....walk....they'll be drunk anyway....will eventually get there. Its Buffalo....think they don't know how to drive in that by now.

Probably the right call. It will be dangerous for anyone trying to get to game.

I completely get that "football in the cold" is a tradition, especially back east.

But we have technology now. Every new stadium should have a retractable roof. I'm sorry, but people and players shouldn't have to play in disastrous weather. The option to open/close the roof allows for you to have that great outside experience but also protect late-season games in bad weather.

I loved my years in Arizona. Early games in Phoenix, you knew you would be in air conditioning. The rest of the year, perfect conditions.

Early games at Arizona State? You'd be melting. Paramedics are routinely taking people, especially drunk people, out of the stands.
This game wouldn’t be played even if it was a dome..I don’t think

15% of the crowd on any given Sunday has come down from Canada.
I am 2 hours from Buffalo and debated going to see the game in December but tickers, etc, would have likely run me 1K...after the performance that game I would have to tossed my Cowboys 40 year fandom in Lake Erie on my way home

I was there. My first NFL game, Cowboys fan since ‘72. It was a bucket list moment so neither the weather nor the Cowboys performance could ruin it. Pure joy.

This is just yet another mark against the NFL. Now we’re going to start postponing games because of some mild adverse winter weather. Absolutely ridiculous. Some of my best memories regarding football growing up were playing in some crazy weather. And watching football being played in some crazy weather. It’s part of the game. It always has been. Now they’re taking it away. You can rest assured if they get away with postponing this coming game it will be like this all the time. It’ll become like baseball. A little rain, a little sleet, snow or temperature is below 15° or something like that and they’ll postpone the game. Nonsense.
