They seemingly are stuck in another era and can’t evolve with the league as the dynamics change, as other more progressive front offices do.

They are definitely out of touch with how the NFL is being run now.

Interesting. I am sorry. When you are the face of a 7 billion dollar sports franchise. Misspeaking isnt allowed. I forgot. We hold these 2 clowns to the same standards we hold our kids.

Fact of the matter is. If you are in charge of PERSONNEL (you know. The guys on your team you pay) You should proabbly know their names. Especially when one of them is the reason you won the biggest game of the regular season in TY Hilton.

Nah you've got the right idea but for the wrong reasons. These guys are still humans. You listen to any coach/gm/owner or even TV personality for an entire season and I bet they slip up somewhere and get a name wrong, it's only a factor here because its the Cowboys. It happens and that is a completely unreasonable expectation to hold an individual to.

Be critical of Jerry for his pride. Be critical of Jerry for roster construction issues. Be critical of Jerry because he whiffs on things like forcing head coaches to take on preselected coordinators. Be critical of Jerry for prioritizing money over wins. You can't be critical of an 80 year old man for an interview blunder. That is where we need to have some empathy.

Even though what is said is true but also fan / media driven overblown crap as well.
And there should be no defending them, but how much hate can be thrown at them as well. (NO, that is not defending them).

It is the off-season, but come on. This will end up just the old whiny stuff. I guess fans need to vent, so can't blame them.

I am tired of their off-season yapping though. Just go and show us, don't tell us with the usual lip service.
We will soon get the ...we like our guys ...mantra, as to signing their own FA's, which is fine, but make it the right ones, and sign higher long term quality FA's. None of these 1 year prove it deals. Especially one coming off an injury.

Let me put this into perspective for you.

Jerry Jones. A guy that has been around the league for years, and should know more than any of us do about football and the workings of the league didn't know that Chris Godwin played on offense.

Stephen Jones. The head personnel guy of the Dallas Cowboys doesn't know his own players names.

Now I have been in business a long time and one thing I know is forgetting, mispronouncing, or down right not knowing what position the person you are speaking to or about is, shows a complete lack of passion and shows that you really don't care.

If I were to go to a meeting and mispronounced or spoke to the wrong person, or addressed them by the wrong title. You better believe I am not getting that project, or sale. And probably wont be spoken to again by that company.

These are the faces of the FO of the Dallas Cowboys. The premier sports franchise in all of sports.

How can you honestly sit there and think that these morons actually want to win when they cant even get the simplest of things right. Like names and positions. Its crazy.

And yet, you fail to realize that Jones is a figurehead as GM and that McClay has been in charge of those duties for several years now. But hey, let’s get hung up on misspeak if it fits our narrative!!!

I will defend them on one point, they own the team can do whatever they want with it.

Why blame them? Blame yourselves for sticking around expecting them to suddenly discover it's not all about the money. It was all about the money and then the celebrity bug bit them both so you're not going to see that go away. People seek their autographs when they're out in public, that sound like they're turning it over to someone else?

I will say this for them, they've been consistent, they constantly sell the company line that things are looking up and getting better all the time. Now, who is at fault? The buyer or the seller?

I've said this many times and will reiterate it here. The only way I remain the fan that I am, and not near the fan I used to be, is to avoid exposure to them but some of you revel in this crap and then complain about it. This forum has become the Booger and Jowls Show with every word they utter repeated here and one video from the Senior Bowl showing up to start 4 threads.

It is one thing to be frustrated; it is another to constantly feed that frustration. Did you actually think they were going to get better at their jobs with nothing but safety net beneath them and no repercussions for bad moves or mistakes? They are bulletproof and will never change, accept that.

I understand the problem, when they've made themselves the faces and voices of the franchise, how do you avoid them? It's not easy but you can limit your exposure and ask yourself one question as a fan. Do you feel better or worse after listening to or watching either one of them.

I can't answer for Zrin, but seriously have you ever changed who your favorite team is in the past?

Personally I would give up watching the sprt before I would change teams.

I just couldn't imagine doing that, especially if you were a fan before FA reared it's ugly head into the sport.

To be fair I said in hindsight, at the time it was a highly debated topic and not an easy call at all. Looking back though that was a .500 team in 2019 and the last season Zeke was really a difference maker for the offense. Since then hes been very inconsistent and showing that his body is beat up and can't handle a full seasons workload. I think he still carries some value, but hasn't been capable as an every down back which you have to be to justify the money paid to an RB. If Jerry could go back in time and redo that decision I'm sure he would have.

I don't think he would. Maybe he doesn't draft him. Probably takes Henry later on in the draft and goes Ramsey 1st.

I really think they like Zeke and how they speak of him. They consider him a leader and a face of this franchise. Fans may have regrets but I honestly don't think they do.

I did it with the Mavericks. There was always a sort of "I wonder what they are up to" type relationship with them but when they got rid of the 3 J's I went on to be a Orlando Magic fan. Of course Magic did nothing but I personally can't root for a team that I feel is hopeless. Even if you are bad at least you get better being bad. But the ownership sucked. When Cuban came back my interest came back. If I felt that way about the Cowboys i'd leave and never come back with no regrets. We don't owe the Cowboys anything. I don't think they're that incompetent as that Mavs organization was in the 90's they at least contend but not sure how much longer one could sit back and watch them run their franchise like this.

The sad thing is Jerry is disconnected on how much a majority of the fan base despises him for ruining the once premier team in football. A lot of this is to do with the fans that clamor to get an autograph before games from him, sold out home games, and billions of dollars coming in. Jerry believes he is a rock star and everything is great. Winning the super bowl is not high on Jerry's list when all of these things continue to happen. If Jerry did everything McClay said across the board, I wouldn’t have a problem with the arrangement, but opinion by committee is asking for problems, and where I think the common denominator lies over all these years of playoff failure.
