This year I would give him 10 because you can't really place a guy who led the offense top tier in anything below that. But he did not do as well as he could have so he gets dinged.
I haven't done my year-end QB rankings yet but I would guess he will land between 7-9 this year on my rankings.

The sad part is some fans here are ok with that as long as we win 11-12 games each year, for the next 30 years.
It’s not like we can do anything about it. Beyond everyone walking away and the teams revenue plummeted . Maybe what would bring about change.

But accepting the dysfunction is about the only way to keep from going nuts and it eases the frustration .

Personally it’s difficult for me to take this franchise too seriously anymore. Jethro and Son have lowered the bar to our once proud franchise.

They’re going to be committed to him until they find a better option. I know a lot of Cowboys fans would love to see the team move on from him this offseason and replace him with Derek Carr, Marcus Mariota, Matt Ryan, Teddy, Bridgewater, Jacoby Brissett, or some other castoff, but hate to disappoint everyone it’s not going to happen.
Jerry is well aware of Dak's weaknesses at this point. Let's see if they draft a quarterback. I suspect they will in the 3rd or 4th round. Jerry is going to get another "Purdy"!!

Some of you think all you do is just a draft a QB and you’ll end up with another Purdy. lol He’s only started a few games, and the jury is still out on him. The Cowboys may very well draft a QB at some point in April.

Please stop expecting the Jones boys to deliver more. They have shown us their ceiling, which was reached this season.

Hope? Hope is fine, just don't get emotionally invested in it. Expect to fall short. If they succeed it will be a happy accident.

Dallas will have a decent team when the elite qb is no longer a Cowboy. A rookie qb salary is much easier to deal with on a cap basis. Until this occurs, I have no hope.

The chances of winning a SB with Dak are significantly higher than odds of drafting a QB better than Dak in the 5ish years Dak has left in his prime. From that standpoint alone it’s foolish to blow this up now.

Dak is a significantly better pocket passer than Jalen Hurts. The goal should be to put together the sort of OL, DL and skill position talent the Eagles have around him. And historically that’s much more doable than finding an elite, top 5 QB (which is the type of player you’d need to clearly elevate the current roster above what Dak does). You can count the number of active QBs that take this team further than Dak this year on one hand.

Draft Max Duggan from TCU on day 3 of the draft. How's that for a plan for Dak's future?

Dak just just lost this team another coach with Kellen moving away . MM will be next with the play call experiment coming up . Kellen called the right plays but Dak could not hit the receivers or make any adjustments. These type of talents are available with top tier QBs. Dak is just paid like one.
as mentioned many times , Dak will fizzle when playing quality pressure defenses. He just does not have it to take this team to a SB . The body of work the last 7 years has plenty of proof .

You totally miss the point.....Dak is a better passer than Hurts, heck he's a better QB, but adding together 2022 and 2023 contracts, Hurts get paid $6m as opposed to Dak's $70m. So that $32m a year equated to an additional - Brown, Smith, Goedart and the whole starting O-Line (apart for Johnson).

Why do you think Coop isnt here, it's because we couldnt split his $28m contract for 22/23, but we could afford the cheaper Gallup at $18m over the same period.

I see what you're trying to say ...focusing on the standard of the QB, but its a false analogy to think teams win with expensive QB's in their 30's (unless you're a Brady, and even then check his CAP Hits for his SB wins). For Dak to win (and he couldnt do it win a CAP hit of 10%), he's now going to have to improve exponentially to account for the CAP hit (over 20%) and to overcome the lack of talent around him.

...part 2 ....

We could restructure Dak so that we lower his CAP hits of $49m (2023) and $52m (2024), the problems with this are that we'll have to pay him STUPID money to offset the savings in 2023 and 2024: 1) we're already paying him nearly 8% of the 2025 CAP (in Dead Money) 2) Micah and CeeDee are, with the increased CAP allowance for EVERY team, is going to COST THE EARTH to keep.

The other issue is that looking at their CAP situation I could see the Eagles bringing back the roster for a repeat in 2023, they can quite easily fit in a run with Hurts and even draft his replacement with their No.10 overall pick, or combine that with their No:32 pick to draft up.

There are just too many imponderables in continuing with an aging QB that shows late season inconsistencies, will be playing with inferior roster (which everyone agree's he needs to succeed) and will potentially have a divisional rival (the Eagles) with a top young QB and a much better roster.

We could go all-in, but just dont see the gamble with Dak, his game is too reliant upon the roster around him.
