I don't think Stephen is going to be able to sell this one to the fans.
I know he is going to try, but I think Dak has lost the locker room and the fans. And if apathy sets in again in the locker room like it did under Garrett, get ready for some high draft picks.

Stephen isn't the type to be messing with other QBs, he's committed!

Are open to extending his contract............not exactly reassuring. Sounds like under the right circumstances.......goes back to what I was saying. What they wanna do and Dak wanna may be two different things.
Prescott has two years left on his deal with two void years. By turning it into a four-year deal, with two void years, they can lower the cap hits for the next two years into a more reasonable range instead of $49 million and $52 million. They can't do this without an extension because they only have two years to work with since Prescott signed a four-year deal.

The problem with doing it is it likely moves any potential out to after 2025, maybe 2024 at the earliest. Right now, we can cut him after 2023 and save $12 million even though we take a dead cap hit of $40 million.

If we extend him, it's likely his first two years of the new deal would be similar to his first two years of this deal, around $20 million instead of more than double that. So we save $61 million against the cap for the next two years.

mccarthy ain't garrett.
he had the freedom to move off kellen moore.
whose to say he won't move off dak if he feels its time.

They’re going to be committed to him until they find a better option. I know a lot of Cowboys fans would love to see the team move on from him this offseason and replace him with Derek Carr, Marcus Mariota, Matt Ryan, Teddy, Bridgewater, Jacoby Brissett, or some other castoff, but hate to disappoint everyone it’s not going to happen.
Nor should it

Cowboy fans aren’t going anywhere. Dak era has been one of the most successful for Jethro World .

It’s amazing how many fans still don’t grasp our owners agendas.

Stephen Jones speaks about Elliott and Prescott as if he is afraid they are going to beat him up in the hallway.
