Didn't Denver just win a SuperBowl by backing up the Brink's truck?

I don't remember Denver drafting Peyton Manning, Aquib Talib, Demarcus Ware, ect......

Sorry to interrupt Steven, please continue explaining how free agency never works out.

Three of 53 players is not buying a Super Bowl in FA. FA is for the last mile, you MUST draft well to win.

I think (and hope) that this opinion is shared around many front offices in the league. Year after year a couple of free agents have gotten paid huge amounts and then went on to underperform the contract.
Suh was a big one. The eagles paid Maxwell way too much, ect.

The idea is to pay for future production over past performance...this is why we let Murray walk.
This thinking leaves many big named free agents off the radar. I can see an exception for Lamar Miller since he is 24 and has barely played....however the other side of the argument says he is a RB and any production he gives can be closely replaced for less money in the draft.

I don't see us making a splash in free agency this year. This could be the year that Jerry sells us on his idea that we would have been a SB team last year if Romo and Dez stayed healthy.

I agree however I think I value RB more than many in this board. You're going to be a much better team if in downs like 3rd and 4 you are a real threat to run AND to convert. While that is party a function of OL, I believe that great RBs can make a significant difference.

The trick is finding solid players who aren't drawing a ton of attention that you can get a year or two out of. A solid FS, LB and CB would of come in really handy last season.

Can the production be replaced in The draft? these rbs in the draft in the past few yrs don't seem to be doing much if anything. I would take miller over any of them except elliot this yr

true, but not many will agree on that.
If you have the OL and decent passing game, then that is when you want the blue chip RB, otherwise it helps, but a RB cant
help a lesser team.
and some coaches, or many coaches dont know how to use the different RB's, chip in phil last year was a joke.
miami had miller in his last year , and every play was a pass play.
I think he had 5 carries in the dallas game so how stupid is that??
