Cool. Gets the best 5 out there

Just makes me wonder if this is the end of Tyron here since they are keeping Tyler at LT right now and Steele should be back hopefully by start of next season.
Tells me there’s a better chance of a veteran T who knows the offense inside and out moving to the right side and succeeding than having a rookie who’s still developing try learning a new position on the opposite side in one week.

Fewer moving parts, too. The other four guys have been playing next to each other for months, which helps them function as a unit.

For sure. Seems like if it wasn't for Steeles injury I think Tyron would be at LT?

That's how I interpret it. Through camp Tyler was trained to be the LG to go with Tyron at LT. Now with Tyron back, they're not going back to that.

We all knew that Tyler would be our future LT. Well, the future is now.

That's always the case with Tyron in recent years. Maybe him missing most of the season ends up being a blessing later?

May have worked out for the better. You’re not going to get a better swing tackle than Tyron smith. Even with a side change.

Honestly, I would let Tyron play LT (HOFer at that position), Tyler Smith LG where he was a badboy, Biadasz C obviously, McGovern RG (he was good against Fletcher Cox years ago when playing there) and Zack Martin at RT (Where he was top notch starting when having to a couple seasons ago as well).

But Tyron Smith and Zack Martin playing next to 1 another is intriguing. Tyron and Tyler Smith is pretty intriguing also.

It’s strange to say it, bc Steele has been solid, particularly with his run blocking, and normally when you IR a starter you see diminishing returns— but our OL actually just got better.

Tyron will need to knock the rust off obviously, but he is a much better pass protector than Steele— and RT is the easier OT position to play as you aren’t facing the best pass rusher most downs like you do at LT. If he is close to his normal output— then we have lost nothing in run blocking either— maybe even gained there as well.

And finally— Pairing Tyron with Zach?! The right side of our line just became about as air tight as you can make it in pass pro, as tough as you can make it vs the run, and jumped a few levels in terms of football IQ, communication, and technique.

These are my thoughts as well. My concern is with Tyron's injury history and his playing out of position. That scenario tends to lead to more injury.
