An in shape Peters, gives you 15-20 snaps tops. He’s not going to play an entire game.

So I’d rather play Tyron then have to see Josh Ball at all
It would have been surprising to me if they did not play Tyron at RT. It makes far more sense than any other scenario.

Depending on Peters to play extensive snaps would be a bad plan. He hasn't even played a full half this season.

I think they might limit Tyron's snaps this.week.

That's always the case with Tyron in recent years. Maybe him missing most of the season ends up being a blessing later?

you know thinking about it....having TSmith RT and Tyler Smith LT with Peters as swing has possibilties of a dominant O line.....McGovern has improved a lot so had badass....but can we stau

healthy for 8 games...4 regular season...4 playoffs?...its possible....we might have 8 elite games in a row?....mow everyone down along the way

Jake---i know Tyron his first year in 2011 played RT.....and i am not sure how difficult it is to switch sides....but with Tyron injury history putting him on unfamiliar side ( in my mind ) increases

the chance he will get hurt again....but maybe i have no idea what i am talking about?

Martin injured his calf with a midseason switch to RT, and that was a healthy change that didn't change his handedness.
Midseason changes to position are a definite health risk. Trying to move your body in unaccustomed ways while playing at NFL speeds with NFL stresses is a big risk. They're pushing their limits when playing even at the positions they've spent years training in. And still, they ramp up during training camp and preseason. And the shortened preseason has generally been considered a cause of increased injuries.
Now no camp or preseason at RT, no games for weeks, and first games coming off injury.
Yeah, I'd say increased risk of injury.

Peters at rt makes a bit more sense actually as he is in game shape already. Make Tyron a swing for now.

Looks like they don't consider Peters in shape for a *full* game. There must be some reason they didn't ramp up Peters snaps as the year went on. And it ain't fantastic play from McGovern.

I'd split Peters and Ball at RT.

People are way too tough on Ball. First real action in the NFL. Steele took lots of ramping up. Tyler too. Even Tyron wasn't Tyron his first season. Let the guy grow some.

That's the way I see it too. That's the way I *saw* it prior to the decision.
They *had* trained Tyler as LG because LT was taken by Tyron. Now LT is taken by Tyler. You don't do this unless you've moved on from Tyron.
Or if you're worried about moving a rookie to a new position, after he's got his current position mostly figured out.

Fewer moving parts, too. The other four guys have been playing next to each other for months, which helps them function as a unit.
That’s really important too
I like the idea of working him back in slowly by letting peters get some reps too

mr dandavis---- now that things are ramping up for playoffs.....if there is even a "shot" then that is all we need....no more One and Dones...or 2 and dones this year ---NOPE----after watching Dak morph

into the General last 3 minutes last week and after watching Vikings get totally throttled first half today ...33-0 and then make greatest comeback in NFL history to win 39-36......we are no longer your

momma's Cowboys....i know we have suffered some hurtful losses of personnel to injury..( but i believe Hankins will be back for playoffs ).......just give us a shot.....and by the way i am even more

excited we play all our playoff games on the road unless inferior wild card teams win and we have to face them.......Dak does better when back against the wall.....so since i am all in i apologize

to the group....i ran out of houses and ranches to bet so i bet all of youse guy's....but no fear......this year we winning......lets just sit back and light a cigar

Right, so why would we want them to move him to RT rather than Tyron?...unless that wasn't what you were saying.

runwildboys----- i am confident they will mix and match so best 5 out there and regardless if we lost Steele for 8 months....our O line will remain formidable....even losing Hankins for regular

season i think he be back for playoffs.......i think Joseph and what's his name starts with "M" i think.....our backfield with safeties that are way good will help a lot.....and Dak proved he can and

will be the General going forward and after witnessing Vikings after being down 33-0 and making greatest comback in NFL history to win 39-36.......i am convinced we wont be one and done

or 2 and done........and even more glad most if not all playoff games on the road......cause as ol Coach McCarthey said...we aint no one's Underdogs

Yeah, it's hard to keep track and I don't expect you to.

Me, I'd go with the lineup planned and practiced through camp and preseason - Tyron LT, Tyler LG.

4 guys across the line, the way they were practiced to be. Then fill in for the missing Steele with Peters and Ball. And make that the side that gets help.

The only holdup for that is why has Peters gotten so few snaps? He signed two and a half months ago. He played full time last season. Two and a half months isn't enough time to get him back to full time duty, or near it?
