Nothing like helping your opponent game plan.

Dont believe it until 'Daddy' mentions it. That's why there's so much OBJ talk..."Jerry, why dont you tell the press about OBJ, you like OBJ and people listen to you when you talk OBJ".

So if Tyron is penciled in as the full time RT then there wont be any shuffling of OL like a previous post mentioned right?

And Peters remains the swing tackle.
Got it.

Peters at rt makes a bit more sense actually as he is in game shape already. Make Tyron a swing for now.

Cool. Gets the best 5 out there

Just makes me wonder if this is the end of Tyron here since they are keeping Tyler at LT right now and Steele should be back hopefully by start of next season.
They can't count on Steele being back at the beginning of next season.

Harder for big men to recover.

Steele is about 60% larger by weight than Gallup; however, his bones/tendons/ligaments are far less than 60% larger.

It is somewhat like hand size. Many QBs have hands as large as their 320 OLinemen.

My point being that there is much more stress on the big man's ACL.

Depending if Tyron ca stay healthy the next month or more, think there is a good chance he returns to the team next season, where I thought that wouldn't happen. With Steele's injury is changes their outlook for next yr as he probably won't be ready.

It is becoming more and more obvious by the day that Stephen will be no better than his father. At least his father had sense enough to hire Jimmy and get a couple of Super Bowls out of it....but this incessant need to look "informed" or "knowledgeable" or "on top of things" is just so unbecoming of an ownership group. It smacks of insecurity.

It's like "let me get out there first, so that in the event it works out we can appear as if we know what we are doing" or if it does not work out it's like "well, we approved it, so you win some and you lose some that's life in the NFL"

Wow, fantastic post 'NoLuv4Jerry".....they just......suck.

Derek Eagleton mentioned this but imagine having a jumbo package of Martin, Smith, and Peters together? 3 HOFers

Going Jumbo Jumbo was looking very promising while it looked like we'd just be able to *add* Tyron to the linemen. I thought that we'd want to find ways to get Peters on the field too, and often.
Tyron Tyler Biadasz Martin Steele + Peters.
Just so much run blocking. So much powerful beef.

An in shape Peters, gives you 15-20 snaps tops. He’s not going to play an entire game.

So I’d rather play Tyron then have to see Josh Ball at all

so Tyron isn't the hot hand and can't get his old position back? It sounds like he will be gone next year.

That's the way I see it too. That's the way I *saw* it prior to the decision.
They *had* trained Tyler as LG because LT was taken by Tyron. Now LT is taken by Tyler. You don't do this unless you've moved on from Tyron.

Possibly.

But I take my chances with the HOF guy who played RT his rookie season and in college as opposed to a rookie getting comfortable at LT. Don’t stunt Tyler’s growth and let him keep growing

Last year Peters was the Bears full time starter. Looks like he got hurt mid game a couple of times, and missed 2 games after the second such episode, But he played full time when healthy.

But you're right on how we've chosen to use him. Most snaps was 21.

Jake---i know Tyron his first year in 2011 played RT.....and i am not sure how difficult it is to switch sides....but with Tyron injury history putting him on unfamiliar side ( in my mind ) increases

the chance he will get hurt again....but maybe i have no idea what i am talking about?

Until Tyron got injured, the plan *had* been to stunt Tyler's growth at LT by playing him at LG. Now the plan is to play Tyler at LT and Tyron elsewhere.
If they planned on Tyron coming back, they'd want Tyler to grow into LG for next year. And they wouldn't risk playing Tyron out of position coming off of injury.
