mr dandavis---- now that things are ramping up for playoffs.....if there is even a "shot" then that is all we need....no more One and Dones...or 2 and dones this year ---NOPE----after watching Dak morph

into the General last 3 minutes last week and after watching Vikings get totally throttled first half today ...33-0 and then make greatest comeback in NFL history to win 39-36......we are no longer your

momma's Cowboys....i know we have suffered some hurtful losses of personnel to injury..( but i believe Hankins will be back for playoffs ).......just give us a shot.....and by the way i am even more

excited we play all our playoff games on the road unless inferior wild card teams win and we have to face them.......Dak does better when back against the wall.....so since i am all in i apologize

to the group....i ran out of houses and ranches to bet so i bet all of youse guy's....but no fear......this year we winning......lets just sit back and light a cigar

With Hankins back, Hilton added, and Peters able to play full time (hope), we're pretty good. And people should take note that these are all free agent pickups during the season for cheap. Key players of need, brought in by management.

Just a very good job there.

I still would have gone:

Tyron
Tyler
Tyler
McG
Zack

I'd rather that be for when Peters needs a rest from RT, if he needs one at all.

But yeah, an option. Zack for limited RT duty is a better option than moving Tyron out there full time.

if Martin would not have sprained his calf when he played RT in 2020 i bet they would do it

Yes, why move 4 players when you can "move" one?

mr xwalker----i would just about lay a Giga-Plat the reason why is Martin suffered a calf sprain when they moved him to RT in 2020 and they are afraid of losing Martin altogether....Martin had zero training

when he made the move and was superb until the sprain

Stephen, Jerry and the coaches saw my thread about playing Tyron at RT...

They drafted Tyler after seeing my thread comparing him to Larry Allen.

i guess that is why we dont call you xwalker for nothing

It would have been surprising to me if they did not play Tyron at RT. It makes far more sense than any other scenario.

Depending on Peters to play extensive snaps would be a bad plan. He hasn't even played a full half this season.

I think they might limit Tyron's snaps this.week.

so glad we got Peters

"The Barnum and Bailey show 9am-12pm everyday on The Fan!"

These guys are on The Fan literally everyday of the week. Smh...sit down and shut up!!! Stephen and Jerry Jones just shut up...let the coaches speak. Please!
They have done a great job this season.

That's 1 player moving relative to how they planned to run the oline.

McGovern plays a backup spot he was always supposed to play.
Martin moves.

“Martin moves”? One time in one game as an emergency, and he got hurt.

Playing guys at their emergency backup positions will not yield great results. If you talk to anyone who has played OL professionally, switching positions is NOT easy, intuitive, or simple.

Techniques, assignments, and footwork all differ and vary so putting 4/5 guys in a situation where they are all having to think/process way more than normal, and master new communication, techniques, and footwork simultaneously— while at the same time asking your backs and TEs to develop chemistry with the new setup, let alone Dak doing so as well—- seems like a gigantic, colossal, cluster-cuss to me.

But hey, if it floats your boat, more power to ya

I don't like playing OL out of position either. Tyron is the last option to me. Changing position, having to switch handedness, and coming back from injury.

I was responding to someone else's suggestion. Moving Martin is my 3rd choice at RT. It's not perfect, but could be needed.

Peters 1st. Ball 2nd. Martin 3rd. The problem with Peters is that he just hasn't played more than 30% of a game. So some subbing is probably required for him. Ball looks good in the run game, but bad in pass protection. If Peters needs a break on a pass down, Martin is probably the better option.

Martin played multiple games at RT in 2019. He was very good at it. But did eventually pull his calf. I think that was likely a result of playing out of position and not having prepared his RT kickslide in camp.

None of the options are perfect. We're seeing that despite having 3 starting quality Ts, they were all LTs, and we didn't properly prepare any of them for playing RT. Ball doesn't look ready for pass protection, and he was the first backup at RT.

We just didn't prepare and all options have issues.

But we don't have a lot of extra RTs.
is it supposed to be better to play Tyron out of

Played pretty good overall. Was absolutely shocked to see him on the field, I figured retirement was imminent when his hamstring tore in August
