Then today Jerry is quoted as saying Dan Quinn will be like a “co-head coach”. Dysfunction Junction
Did you listen to the interview? I’m not a defender of Jerry by any means, but this is not what he said at all. Your quotation is completely out of context.

Admittedly, I did not hear the whole interview. Please help us better understand. I certainly could be wrong.
He never used the word “co-head coach”. I just relistened to that part to make sure I didn’t mishear. The point he was making is that he has a coach that is head coach material controlling the defense and a coach who is obviously the current head coach coaching the offense and that is a positive for both sides of the ball. As you are well aware, sometimes you have to look past the words that are said to what he’s trying to say. He’s 80 years old after all.

Now it might be debatable if Mike being in effect the OC is a positive, but he obviously believes so, so that is the point he was making.

Again, I’m not a JJ defender and I very rarely actually listen to either he or Stephen, but I did listen today because I felt like fans summarizes of what was said was not 100% accurate, and I was correct in that assumption.

Funny, all these folks criticizing Jerry Jones for keeping Kellen Moore around..hmm. Cherry picking to blame Jerry as usual.

Why aren’t we blaming McCarthy? He could have taking over the offense at any time.

Of course Jerry wanted KM, many in the NFL wanted KM, hence the multiple interviews the past few years. And how long did he last when he was released? He didn’t last 24hrs before he was handed another OC job!

So, No. I can’t blame Jerry for wanting to keep a young OC around that lead his team to several top 5 NFL offenses. It would be stupid to not want him around.

The real problem wasn’t the OC.. it was the execution on the field. But many have already pointed out that elephant in the room.

That said, Do we really want McCarthy to hire his own Coordinators? Most seemed to have forgot “his” original DC, Mike Nolan:rolleyes:

Yeah, that Dan Quinn guy.. that was Jerry’s doing. But go ahead and play the blame game, carry on.

Yep, KM was ‘forced’ on big Mike.
However if he’s going to get fired for not meeting expectations, might as well go down swinging with his guys.

Again, false narrative. Saying he was ‘forced’ is saying Mike did not at all want KM. This is not at all accurate. It’s convenient to say that, because it makes it easier to bash JJ. It’s easy enough without having to make inaccurate assumptions.

When you win its all good but if you fall short of winning a SB these things create division. Let your HC recruite his staff.

Thanks for the clarification.

Except both Jerry and McCarthy have disputed that.
When MM was 1st hired he expected to be handling the play calling. That got changed shortly afterwards and not by him, but he had no choice but to go along with it.
