I'm really thinking it's going to wind up being RGIII or Johnny and I think Johnny is going to be the guy.

I hope not. I don't think he's any good and all the partying and off the field crap doesn't help. You can find someone better than him in the draft. If Manziel is on this team I'm seriously not going to be happy.

According to Mickey Spagnola who interviewed Stephen Jones today, The backup Qb position will be the teams #1 priority in the offseason.

Don't be shocked if the Cowboys start dangling draft picks to get a backup qb they really want.
I have a feeling Johnny Football will be a Cowboy for like a 3rd or 4 th rd pick or something. If Stephen says it's the #1 priority I don't think they will be taking a chance that someone gets released, That sounds like they will be making some phone calls and being very proactive in getting a quality backup.

Thoughts?

Manziel is not what I would want for a backup....frontup...sideup...layup...stopup QB period. No way no how.

Look, mates. We'll be in contention with a number of teams for a blue-chip QB.
Titans won't need a QB. San Diego still believes Rivers has maybe 3 more years left. the Lions already have a slinger. The Browns now believe Johnny Looseball can play -- they won't be in the QB stakes.
The Dollphins have their Aggie QB. Now as I see it, the 49ers might be interested in a QB pick in the first round. That team will be our main competitor for a QB in the first round.

Just get the best QB in the 1st round Sir Jones and quit dragging your Italian-loafered feet.
A QB, Sir Jones, not a backup.

No...........

You take the best player on your board at the pick you are at. You don't reach for a QB because you think you need one, you only take the QB if he's one of the best players on the board at your pick.

I also see a lot of people here going nuts over the verbiage Stephen used.

Nothing new.

That's one hell of a vote of confidence in Cassel. I guess they are finally writing this season off then? How about playing Moore or Showers then? Three more weeks of Cassel? That'll fill them seats....

why not draft a QB? .the backup QB market is really bad and i would rather have a rookie who can eventually replace Romo.

Sigh.

Always fixing last seasons problems with this FO. Then next season, new problems will arise and will spend the next off-season fixing those.

This is what people mean when they say this organization is reactive, not proactive.

Yep. Its one thing to think it and discuss it in closed meetings. But these Jones boys would reveal top secret battle plans to the enemy if it meant speaking into a microphone.
