Definitely looked better than he did in the preseason so I think you hang on to him and see if he can continue to improve.

Do you use a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th round pick? Do you pick up a UDFA? Do you pick up a FA who has NFL experience?
I don't see Dallas using anything higher than 5th round draft pick on a QB at this time. I have no problems with that. You can find someone to provide competition with McGee in the later rounds or free agency. This will be McGee's 3rd year, which I think will be his make or break year. If he makes it, then Dallas may be set. If not, then in 2012 Dallas will focus on bringing in an eventual replacement for Romo.

The kid obviously is very gutsy. I liked the way he continually stood tall in the pocket under pressure. He also had a good feeling for the first down marker when ever he had to take off running.
The thing that worried me the most was his accuracy. He repeatedly through passes behind the reciever or had his passes sail on him.
Now this guy was known for his running skills in college due to the style of the offense he was in. I can't find too much on him now coming out of college. Did he have a reputation as an accurate passer?
I like the kid but purhaps bringing in a QB in the 5th or 6th rounds might be prudent for training camp if we have one this year.

Rudy Carpenter would suffice

QB Mitch Mustain USC 6-3 #220 rd 5-6
Mitch Mustain began his career at Ark and had a successful freshman season compiling an impressive 8-0 record as a starter in 2006. Mustain has a strong arm, above-average accuracy and made good decisions with the ball this spring while pushing Sanchez for the starting job
Former USC quarterback Mark Sanchez: "He has a great arm. He can throw the ball through a brick wall.
Strong arm, as he's able to throw all the routes. Zip on his throws
I really do believe that if it were not for his arrest on suspicion of selling prescription narcotics in February, Mustain would have been drafted. However, it now looks like he’ll need to go the free agent route. But, the guy does have some tools that are worth taking a shot on. Mustain is a winner; he’s comfortable in a pro style system and displays very good accuracy/ball placement on all areas of the field. He won’t be a fit for every scheme as he lacks a great arm, but he strikes me as a guy who could handle an NFL offense early in his NFL career and earn a job as a number three initially.

No charges filed against ex-USC backup quarterback Mitch Mustain
Mustain, 22, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of a felony for allegedly selling Adderall, an amphetamine, to an undercover officer. But county prosecutors said they would not move forward with a felony prosecution because the substance sold to the undercover officer was "lisdexamfetamine dimesylate," which is not listed as a controlled substance.
"Given that Mustain has no record and that this is his first contact with law enforcement, it is appropriate that it be referred to the city attorney’s office for misdemeanor consideration," officials wrote.
Hoofbite;3900558 said:So, just because he wasn't charged you're okay with bringing him in?
I get the impression it wouldn't have mattered if he was charged......you'd still be in favor of bringing him in.
And for the record, that drug is a controlled substance.
