Considering the fickle nature of Cowboys' fans and the frustration building from the past couple of seasons, a poor start by Romo would be an open invitation to a controversy

I was being facetious. I was just exaggerating a point made by Stephen the other day, that teams draft players (e.g. QBs & kickers) to showcase them & then sell them to the highest bidder, not necessarily to play them. Green Bay, and now New England, has been very good at doing that w/their QBs.

I can understand a draftee being someone's favorite pick. But if that means you think he's the best one we got this weekend, then God help us if this is comes to be reality.

And the only reunion with Bennett will be at the camp food table.

If you watched him play at A&M, you wouldn't question if he is mobile or not, and I am NOT an Aggie fan.

You don't rush for 1800 yards and almost 5 years per carry your first three years if you are not mobile, especially for a QB.

I heard his interview on the ticket today and i have to admit that i am a fan of his now. Just the way he talked about wanting to get better and do whatever he could to help the team made me want to root for him. He seemed very mature. He made a comment about doing whatever was asked of him and keeping his mouth shut really made me like him....a lot of players for the cowboys don't know how to do that.

More talk like this and I might actually start to think this guy is a good pick up. But the way he ran his mouth after the draft makes me think he is all about himself.

That'd be awesome to have two QBs with a higher player rating at their position than almost everyone else who's ever played. Can you imagine? We could trade one of them for a boatload of picks.

They just don't understand how good he is.

The one thing that is legitimate is that QBs who are mobile generally have a shorter shelf life. So in all honesty, in 3-4 years we could be looking for that guy to take over for a nose-diving Romo - because history shows that when guys who use their legs to create start to go - they go quick.

Might not be true with Romo, because he's more of a traditional pocket passer who also happens to be elusive, but you never know. Either way, if we develop a young capable backup who we can either groom as a replacement 4 years from now or trade away for picks, it's a good thing.

His lack of better stats are because his team didn't have any decent WR's, and he was injured.

He was VERY accurate as a passer over his career. And his passer rating has always been very good as well.

Even though McGee was injured he still got a good amount of time to work with Mike Sherman and Sherman had a lot of praise for this guy and believes he can play in the NFL.

If all he ever is a solid back up then thats fine. If we hit the jack pot and he turns into a player even better.

But he has time to develop slowly which will be a huge advantage for him and even if he is a bust at least we didn't spend 41 mill guaranteed.

He's an interesting player.

But I was going on McGee's assertion as well, that he was NOT very agile and was a better passer than a mover/runner.

You heard wrong. He was injured never benched. McGee and his coach have both been on the record saying that is bunk.
