It's no secret Dak's contract was structured with the same concept as Aikman and Romo. Why are we having issues with Dak that we never had with Aikman and Romo getting their extension or new money?
We did have those issues. Don't forget Romo being 8-8 three years running, 6-10 one year.

And at the end, we had a poor excuse for an NFL team. How long did we have to pay Aikman after he retired?

We don't have to "think" or "guess" or "believe".

We can look at the actual data. Blogging the Boys put some of the data together, looking at various time periods over the last decade.

The NFLPA released data from 2013-2016. The Cowboys were 25th in cash spent over that four year period (and that includes big FA signings like Carr as well as Romo's big extension).

Jason La Canfora released an analysis of team salaries showing the period from 2016-2019. Dallas was DEAD LAST in cash spent over that period.

There was no 2020 data available but the NFLPA released a study of the period from 2021-2023. The Cowboys were 30th in cash spent.

These are just facts. The Cowboys, over the last decade, have literally been one of the "cheapest" teams, for lack of a better term, when it comes to investing in the roster.
Ouch.

The Eagles mortgage the future to win today. The Cowboys don't. That can lead to lean years. But teams bounce back quick. The Cowboys don't want to have any of those years. When was the last time the Cowboys were under .500 with a healthy starting QB? You have to go back to 2004. But what does that approach get us? Almost contenders?

Stephen forgets we can now look at sites like Spotrac and over the cap to see what they are doing.
When we've tried to do that, we made poor decisions on personnel. Brandon Carr, Jaylon, Crawford, Zeke. And there are many more.

He duplicates the same behavior, his novels are him crying and complaining about other people while being insulting in the process.
complaining about peoples behavior around here is not the same as complaining about the team in the manner described. I get that people do not want to examine their behavior but that is really all I see.

SJ just needs to admit that he has a serious crack addiction, needs some intervention.

It's been explained in this thread.

The Eagles had $2M in dead money coming in and restructured everyone they could and generated $37M in dead money.

The Cowboys had $27M in dead money from Dak alone.

It's really not hard to figure out.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/cap/
Technically the Cowboys are carrying no dead money on Dak. He's still on the roster. Per spotrac, which you linked, Dallas only has $17MM in dead money this year.

What is Dak's salary minus his cap hit? Oh yeah, $27M.

I should have been saying dead money plus amortized carryovers but the point is the same. You and your point of facts, Crayola.

So who do you want to restructure to generate $37M so we can be like the Eagles?

You said the Cowboys "had" $27MM in dead money from Dak alone whereas Philly only had $2MM. But the Cowboys didn't "have" $27MM in dead money from Dak since he was still on the roster. They "could" have had $27MM of dead money if they had cut him as a June 1 or traded him after June 1. But they didn't. So therefore, they are carrying no dead money on Dak.

Per Spotrac, which you linked, the Cowboys carry $17MM in dead cap, mostly from Elliott's dead money hit of $6MM and Tyron Smith's dead money hit of $6MM plus some other random players.

claiming that everyone behaves the same way and using that as justification for bad behavior is pretty antisocial.

We’re on a Cowboys message board in the offseason talking about the Cowboys. That includes the FO, FA, players etc… What bad behavior would you be referring to?

Clearly you enjoy being condescending in your replies so it tracks you’re good with how that poster is condescending in his replies. I’m surprised that you’re out here defending his bad behavior because you perceive people talking about the Cowboys on a Cowboys message board as bad behavior.

And I said I should have said something else. You won a point of fact congratulations but now it is time to mover forward.

Again who do you want to restructure so we can be like the Eagles?

And he doubles down on it some more. My tone is definitely adversarial. You a victim now too?

Nonetheless complaining about behavior of posters is not the same as complaining about the team.

So, tomorrow I want everyone here to go into their bosses office first thing in the morning and tell him this. "I don't think about the bottom line for this company and I don't believe you should either."

The Spin Room..But we feel really good about our Guys And Mazi."
:mad::banghead::mad::banghead:

Haven't We Heard That One Before..------> We feel really good about our Guys
Same Song & Dance.. :muttley:

I do not want to hear that anymore, I'm beating my ahead against the wall here fans.
How do we keep going forward as Die-Hard fans, the flakes can find another team to root for, but Im talking to all of us Die Hard Cowboys fans here, how do we deal with this total FO meltdown at this point.
I hope that some of the conspiratorialists are actually correct, and Jerry is nose diving the franchise in order to sale it and get out while the value is great, but I know that is only a pipe dream my friends.
We are bound as Cowboys fans to the Jones for probably the rest of our lifetimes unless the fans actually run the Jones out of town...lol
