Stephen on the Fan said he wouldn't rule out anything on QB

You know I mean the team. He faked retirement to get out of our contract, then went to the Bills. Same as Ratliff faking injury to get out of contract, then immediately sign with the Bears

And we relied on Orton for an important season saving game, and he threw an INT to lose the game. He isn't actually a guaranteed winner

well we were losing anyway, his INT just sealed it, it didn't cost us the game, we were already behind

They asked him about Kyle Orton and he said he wouldn't rule out anything. We will see going forward, but as I have stated a couple of times yesterday/today I would do all it takes to bring him back. Yes I know he screwed us but we can win with him.

Also, another nugget they just said about an upcoming opponent is that Drew Brees might have a torn rotator cuff!

What I got out of that is Drew Brees is no longer considered as a possible backup due to injury.

If Kyle Orton was on fire, I wouldn't pee on him.

Denvers 2nd string QB Brock Osweilser is another capable young Backup, but not sure of his trade value or the value of Tampas' 2nd string Glennon or even Greenbays' 3rd string Hundley, furthermore if any one of them would be available.

Would the Packers really trade away Hunley?

He looked spectacular in the preseason. 7 TDs, 1 Interception, and a 130 QB rating.

Jarv! LOL...... Gotta be honest with you. I don't believe this statement. I think that if there were a way you could pee on Kyle Orton, you would move mountains to do so, regardless of is condition.

I like Hunley as a developmental option but in all honesty, I don't think that he would be of much use to us as a back. He would have to come in and learn the offense, which as we all know, is tough with a few training camps under your belt and a season of just sitting and learning. When you are in the season, you don't really have the time to actually teach and the amount of prep we will have to put in, just to get Weedon ready, is going to be that much more. I just think that he would not be helpful to us over these next 8 games or so. JMO

I think you are right.

He would, I suspect, be a really interesting prospect to bring in and groom to be Romo's replacement down the road in 3 years or so.

Won't happen for various reasons, however.

I would seriously take him. Remember the division championship game vs Philly where he had like 350 passing yards that he nearly won 2 years ago? And he went 7-5 w/ Buffalo last year. AND he's about the same age as Weeden. (seems like Orton should be like 38 but somehow he's only 32).

I'm open for anything. Anything! Well not Vick or Tebow anything but almost. Do you really think Weeds could have gone 7-5 with Buffalo?? Please.

Fair point, but do you trust Orton? I am of the belief that if you can't trust a person in one way you can't trust him in any way.

I don't even know. But I don't care either. I want to win. We are too early in this season to give up now and if we can just right the ship until the reinforcements come back we can still get it the SB. That's what it's all about now right?

I would choose anyone in this thread over Kyle Orton

Absolutely. But I don't think a knee-jerk reaction involving Orton is exactly what the doctor ordered. Weeden knows this offense better than anyone the Cowboys could get for a reasonable price right now. I honestly don't have a lot of faith in him, particularly not for this next weekend. But if he can win 3 of the next 8 games, we will at least still be in position to get there. Factor in the fact that the rest of the NFCE is struggling like they lost their on version of Romo for the year and I like our chances without Orton.

FWIW, on Cowboys Break a few weeks ago the subject of Orton came up, and it was strongly hinted that Romo and Orton did not get along, and that Orton is currently spending most of his time self-medicating (drinking).
