Stephen vs Jerry

This is the Cowboys way. Jerry and Stephen do radio interviews they own the team. It’s been like this ever since Jerry bought the team.

He's part gm part owner, why wouldn't we listen when he speaks.

He is in part. If you don't think Stephen helps shape the team and make decisions on who they sign in free agency you aren't paying attention.
I'm sure he has a huge part in the direction this team goes but so do advisors on other teams a la McClay. GM he is not. I've heard Will McClay on the radio once or twice, but never to the degree he has a weekly radio appearance.

Why does he come on the radio and always talking? Does any other team have a guy who isn't the GM or head coach talk and give interviews? Dude came out the right sack but why would anyone give him a platform?

He will be the owner and GM sooner or later.

Or you just don't know what the title of GM means.

Stephen is not nor has he ever been the GM of this team. Some day though.

Other execs do talk on local radio. They aren't as incoherent as Stephen, but they talk. All I can say is those who are waiting for Jerry to disappear so things can get better haven't done the math.

He has the platform he has because he is the heir apparent to the Cowboys ownership with the last name, Jones. He does what he does because he can. It's that simple.

That’s daddy’s boy.Not a football guy just like papa.

Who is part GM part owner? Jerry or Stephen? Because of the vague comment, some of these latest replies are implying that you're saying Stephen is part owner part GM (which he's not).

No kidding Sherlock. He may not be an owner or gm by name, we all know this I wasnt saying he was but he has a role similar to what many GM's do. If you look at his responsibilities in many organizations it would be considered a gm role. Jerry just likes to keep that title for himself so he can possibly claim victory if they somehow magically won a SB.

Not involved with other teams but I'm gonna bet no other team has it's family in front of microphones as much as the Joneses. I wouldn't consider mcClay a gm, he doesn't get to make any of the decisions just in charge of all of the scouts/ personnel which many GM's rely on. I call Stephen part gm only cause he does have say on who to hire, draft, sign though we know only Jerry is gmin name

Technically he isn't but he is the heir to the throne in which he will be both gm and owner whenever the skeksi eventually departs this life.
