Talent evaluation at the most important position is a pretty important thing.
Hence, our current predicament.

NO amount of different coaching, playcalling or personnel support can overcome a poor decision maker at QB.

Sleepnumber is a VERY POOR decision maker with the ball in his hands.

The sad reality is Jerry was and is bad.
But it may get even worse with his son.

I have no doubt we can win with Dak but we're going to need to rebuild a top 3 OL, establish a dominate run game, and have another good WR to compliment Lamb.....then throw in the 85 bears defense

Then work on his consistency. One game he will look like mvp material then completely **** the bed and look worse then Cooper Rush.

So— pay MORE money to a guy who hasn’t demonstrated or proven he can win big games.

Brilliant. And we wonder why we have not won anything in nearly 30 years.

Incompetence doesn’t even come close to describing the situation we find ourselves in with this FO
They can never admit that they’re wrong. They just dig the hole deeper hoping to eventually be right.

Record profits help to soothe their bruised egos.

"I've got all the faith in the world we can win this thing with Dak," Jones said from the scouting combine in Indianapolis."

Why?

"Because we know him. We know what he's about. His leadership skills are undeniable. Impeccable work ethic," Jones said. "Other than he hadn't won some key playoff games, he's everything you want in a quarterback. From the day he walked in the door, he's won a lot of games. We just got to get over the hump."

Prescott is set to count $49.2 million against the 2023 salary cap. He is signed through 2024. If the Cowboys restructure Prescott's contract this year, they can create up to $22 million in cap space. With an extension, they could create even more room.

"We've got to have a plan to ultimately extend Dak," Jones said.

This is such a pathetically run team by someone that thinks just because Dak hasn't won playoff games.....holy stupidity.

Oh, Stephen Go outside and play on your big trampoline daddy bought you and let the real football people handle this. Because they know that, no, you win it with a pedestrian quarterback like Dak making more money than Patrick Mahomes.

Leadership and work ethic. Nice.
Nothing about the actual on field play.

Well, extension will be happening soon it seems. Good thing Snail Jones is on it.

You can win with Dak

our fans just hate Dak and its on a personal level to where if he does win theyll say its inspite of him

However if he doesnt win in the next 2 years maybe even next year its time to look at other qbs

100%.........I honestly believe THIS is their thinking. Fans are looking at the fact they plan to extend Dak but he didn't say if it will be short or long-term extension. Since this is the last year of guaranteed money and they HAVE TO reduce his cap hit short extension is def the way to go. Add another year or two of G-money and get ready to move on if you have to.

It's really their only option other than eating the $50M cap hit. The good news is it only takes adding another year or two ( and yes little more money) to fix this. In other words, this can be done by moving the out in his contract from 2024 to 2025 coz the 2024 salary is non-guaranteed.

What great belief in Dak.

You've watch him for 7 years now and believe we can win with him, but if he doesn't lead us anywhere in the next year or 2 we should move on.

Dak don't need "haters" with fans like that.

It can't be said enough.
Yes, it can. It's said way too much just like all the homering about him. Both sides...way too much. All the Dak haters and Dak homers just need to get together, crack open a few beers and wrench on a Harley for awhile. It'll be all good after awhile. Especially when those pipes start getting warmed up.

Serious question
So many are throwing rocks and bashing Stephen and RIGHTFULLY so but that's not fixing the problem. Kinda like your own kid or employee making a huge mistake. You can yell, bash him, and curse him until he/she is blue in the face but guess what, the problem is still there.

We have a starting QB who likely has hit his ceiling, coming off the worst season of his career..............with a $50M cap hit, $89M dead cap. My question......how would fix the problem? or what can we do? At the end of the day you still 50+ players expecting an answer.

My take, it would not surprise me if Jerry, Stephen and the coaches are just as angry and frustrated as the fans but realize this mess can't be fixed w/o Dak and Todd France. I mean do we expect Stephen to tick Dak off knowing how much he's needed? Hell no, bite your tongue, message it, clean it up, and move on as quickly as possible.
