If they don't do something soon, those "clicks" will be TV's turning off or switching channels.
And that’s exactly what needs to happen. You only get what you demand you deserve what you tolerate.

When Jerry’s gone and if Charlotte took over and hired a GM my entire outlook and attitude on the organization would change.

Serious question
So many are throwing rocks and bashing Stephen and RIGHTFULLY so but that's not fixing the problem. Kinda like your own kid or employee making a huge mistake. You can yell, bash him, and curse him until he/she is blue in the face but guess what, the problem is still there.

We have a starting QB who likely has hit his ceiling, coming off the worst season of his career..............with a $50M cap hit, $89M dead cap. My question......how would fix the problem? or what can we do? At the end of the day you still 50+ players expecting an answer.

My take, it would not surprise me if Jerry, Stephen and the coaches are just as angry and frustrated as the fans but realize this mess can't be fixed w/o Dak and Todd France. I mean do we expect Stephen to tick Dak off knowing how much he's needed? Hell no, bite your tongue, message it, clean it up, and move on as quickly as possible.
The alternative option is to convert some of the $31m guaranteed into bonus for 2024 and the '25 and '26 Void years and tell Dak to earn his money.

Are you saying pay him some of (lets say $20M) $31M upfront and spread the rest over the next couple of years? What about the 2024 nonguaranteed salary of $34M. Wouldn't Dak and his wanna address that?

Sad to say, and not that Jetrry & Son would do it, but the best bet is to bite the bullet and allow Dak to playout this season, and depending on how the season goes either Dak gets restructured next season or Dallas moves in a different direction and is facing a near $40M dead money hit.....not ideal but better than sticking with a horse that no longer can run.

2023 is the last of CAP HELL (thanks in part to Gregory). Regardless of 'guaranteed' money, Dak's still getting a 2024 CAP allocation of: $52.1, $39.9m (cut) or $18m (post June). I realize we'd be losing some of $78m we presently have available in 2024 (if we part company with Dak), but any signings/extensions can be made with heavy signing bonus.

Kicking the Dak can, just delays and extenuates the pain as I cant see France using the Brady model of taking less money to ensure success. In effect the bonus gives us a fighting chance for Dak to prove himself to show this 'leadership' in those 'key playoff games'..... at some point the focus has to be on him and the roster killing 20%.

Stephen's pep talks might be intended to serve needful thinking, but to me they represent wishful thinking, rather than anything substantive.

It seems to pleasure him to propose that it merely take one more meaningful addition to the current roster to make a Super Bowl championship.

"I've got all the faith in the world we can win this thing with Dak," Jones said from the scouting combine in Indianapolis."

Why?

"Because we know him. We know what he's about. His leadership skills are undeniable. Impeccable work ethic," Jones said. "Other than he hadn't won some key playoff games, he's everything you want in a quarterback. From the day he walked in the door, he's won a lot of games. We just got to get over the hump."

Prescott is set to count $49.2 million against the 2023 salary cap. He is signed through 2024. If the Cowboys restructure Prescott's contract this year, they can create up to $22 million in cap space. With an extension, they could create even more room.

"We've got to have a plan to ultimately extend Dak," Jones said.
The Cowboys are doomed. Stephen is just like his father. Every year we can win the superbowl. After hyping this team up and they choke in the playoffs they make a couple of changes with assistant coaches. Tell everyone this year is different. Rinse and repeat.

You can win “this thing” with Trent Dilfer, Joe Flacco, Mark Rypien, etc., too.

Chances are lower though, dependent upon the compensating factors of how well built other parts of the team are as well as the coaching staff is.
