Stephen: "We have a great chance to right the ship here.”

Stephen is right but fans would rather stew in their dirty diapers. We have another game in 72 hrs, they have to move on to prep for the Bills. Fans have the luxury of moaning and groaning about spilled milk but these players and coaches have to put that Pats game in the rearview and move forward.

you said players and coaches. we're discussing Stephen Jones. He is not right.

Then just say exactly that... we played poorly and are trying to get ready for the Bills game.

They keep trying to pump sunshine and it is straight up denial
You aren't in the locker room to know what's being said. Whatever you think is being "pumped" to the public, it's only your perception.

You are right. Stephen Jones is full of it. But the players and coaches are professional enough to do what they have to do to be ready for another game in 72 hours.

Stephen Jones needs to give us fans some credit and stop trying to feed us his BS.

Here's hoping!

Josh Allen...huge week coming up. Look for Beasley to eat all day in the slot and Allen to have about 80 yards on the ground.

My profession is in upper management. I have managers that work 60/70 work weeks that are not getting results. And I have managers that are working 30/35 hour weeks that are extremely successful. Which ones do you think I’m replacing!

I don’t give a damn how hard you work, in my profession I need results or I don’t have a job.
You captured a thought I had when I first read Stephen's comment about work ethic.

In my view, work ethic or commitment to the job, are mere table stakes for the job and, the true measure of "work success" is deliverables or results.

Of course, you want results the "right way", but results against agreed deliverables are what separate the successful businesses from failures.

We can argue ad nauseum about Jerry, the GM's, role in the past 20 years. I would still contend that the single biggest factor separating the Cowboys from the ranks of year-in and year-out winners is the coach.

For the most part this is a year to year league. Maybe Dallas rights the ship and wins the East but I think some teams may have already passed this roster in the NFC and Dallas will have to play catch up. 49ers,Seahawks,Rams all have the QB paid. Saints can win without Brees it appears, Vikes are better coached and Rodgers saves his best for the Boys. I'm not seeing except for coaching how the Boys can pass the others.

Absolutely and well stated!

What is he supposed to say?

we act like he’s supposed to tell the media “Garrett and his whole staff suck i wish they would go away”

Why does the CEO have to say anything? Why does the owner/GM have to say anything?

Do you see other CEOs and owners doing interviews before and after games, and hosting radio shows?

The Joneses have a desperate need for attention and validation, and they hurt their own team in the process.

I watched bits and pieces of the SF vs GB game last night and walked away truly envious of SF. I saw a well-desciplined team with innovative play-calling... Things I wish the Cowboys displayed.

And a defense that appears to be as good as the Pats.

I was always bemused by an employee or job candidate's description of themselves as having a "strong work ethic".

I would often reply, "Great. How do you measure work ethic? What are the key characteristics?"

I would much, much prefer someone to tell me, "I consistently met or exceeded all of my Key Performance Indicators" or, "I delivered my results on time and within budget"

I wonder if Stephen's comment is more tongue-in-cheek? Is that the best he can come up with when describing Garrett.

Enough of the rant.
