Stephen: We're going to take a long hard look at how we've looked at free agency

Probably give Lance $15m a year to be a backup and then claim we can’t afford anyone else

Just lip service, or are they serious. Or just seriously insane.
Taking a Long hard look, does not mean they will actually change.

I hope they do, they must change. They have a chance to change Along with a new unknown at HC.

However, they also must show is this change, as no one will believe it until it happens.
Any logical person knows it should take a very short, 1 blink assessment, to comprehend that they are doing it wrong. Never mind being on year 35 of Ownership.

They are going to have to spend a little money to avoid a complete BS failure in the first year.

I will not hold my breath.

However, they did say they need to plug some holes in FA, so they can go back to drafting the best player available.

Both Mazi and Guyton were a reach to fill glaring holes.
Hard to say they were reaches. When you pick at the end of the first you are almost always taking a second round talent. Neither have panned out but not sure they were reaches where they were taken

Yes, this time, he will make dishonest offers to prospective signees.

Dude is a bag of rocks.

Drafting Mazi and trying to convert him to the opposite of what he was, was a massive reach. Not only was it a waste of year, but he then most likely wasted another year, trying to get back to who he was to begin with.

Drafting a RT and expecting him to easily flip over to the left side is a sign of desperation.

It is never a good place to be in, when everyone knows what position you are drafting for.

Oh yeah! We're going to move up from the dollar store to the $5 Walmart aisle bin!

sounds like "all in" all over again.

excuse me if this evokes zero enthusiasm from me or some other Cowboys fans.

What he means is that they will watch closely as they are signed by other teams instead of spending those first couple weeks on the yacht

Stephen Jones is a blowhard…they will say that they will evaluate all aspects of the season, but in the end spout the same rhetoric and do nothing.
Dallas has been eclipsed in the NFC East by Philly and Washington; as well as by Houston in their home state…so if this doesn’t provide any impetus to effect change…nothing will.
