IMO, WVU was the better team last year. I thought they had more weapons than Arkansas and the better QB. The Razorbacks have lost their QB for this upcoming season. McFadden will probably still produce, but won't have a huge year.

They, WVU, have also gained another potential weapon in the backfield with the addition of RB Noel Devine (sp?)...this is the kid that Deion Sanders was going to adopt and has taken under his wing.

Are you kidding me. Slaton as legit 4.3 flat speed. JuJo is barely under 4.5 and is not nearly as fast as some of you make him out to be..

How is Slaton a legit 4.3 guy, but Julius is barely under 4.5? One of them has run at the NFL combine and one has not. The NFL combine is typically taken as the legit measurement of speed in the 40. Julius ran a 4.40 and a 4.49 at the combine in 2004.

I think Slaton is faster just watching the two play. Actually, Slaton seems to play with more quickness than flat out speed. At least at the college level. Quickness is more of an asset than straight speed. Until he runs at the combine his 4.3 speed is not legit. Most won't care if he came in and ran a 4.4 because on the field he shows what he can do.

I would take Slaton on my team any day of the week.

He would definetly bring a whole new versatility to our offense being a threat to go the distance running and receiving.

His versatility and home run ability reminds me a lot of Marshall Faulk/Tony Dorsett.

Slaton is definetly a game breaker.

If you have not seen Slaton play very much, don't comment on him, ... it makes you look silly.

He is an amazing, incredible, game changing RB. He will remind you of Tony Dorsett.

He probably is not an "NFL 25 carries a game" back, but he doesn't have to be when I have seen him go for 149 yds and 2TD's in the first quarter on 9 carries against Maryland.

WOW against Maryland, I watched that game, my grandmother could have piled up yards against that awful team. I think he's overrated....

Think what you want about Slaton, I don't care, ... you will find out you are wrong.

I never insinuated that Maryland was Florida or anything, but they did win 9 games, beating teams like Virginia, NC State, Florida St, Clemson, Miami and Purdue.

The Big East was 5-0 in bowl games.

I think the SEC is better, but the Big East is no slouch.

Ask Georgia if WV has a good football team, or how good Slaton is. Slaton ran for over 200 against "the Dogs".

I agree. Slaton was quite impressive and if he can put up another great season and come out of the season with no major injuries he looks like a high 1st rd pick in next years draft.

And people forget that Julius FASTEST time at the combine was 4.38. The only RB to run faster was Tatum Bell who ran a 4.37. I think the best of Julius is YET to come...I think that the Dallas Brass will use this year to SEE if Julius IS the back for the future and give him more carries...I bet we don't take either back and BOTH will be on the board come NEXT year draft day...

Jones speed does not mean a thing if he can't get through the hole and can't break a arm tackle. Speed is not what makes a RB great.

I don't think there are very many 25-30 carry a game backs coming up through the college ranks anymore, and anyways, you want a guy who can make the most of the times he touches the ball, and Slaton can do that for you

Not a fan of UWV but did see him play quite a few games as they tended to be on TV more often last season. Myself I'm a Longhorns fan.
