Still irritated at the insistence that 3 QB's are kept

I have been a Cowboy Fan since they started in 1960. Father had season tickets for decades. Mistakes have been made, but why is god's green earth would they keep a bum like Moore when we will be cutting some very good players as it is???

It seriously irritates me. It makes zero sense. The guy cannot throw a football, has no presence in the pocket and gets rattled on most plays.

We have a very good football team and I swear if we loose a Noah Brown, etc. because of Numnuts Moore, I will loose it!

That is all, have a great day.

As long as Dak's in the lineup, they want Moore doing the stuff QB2s do, and Rush doing the stuff QB3s do. Those things are pretty different. You definitely need a QB2. The question is, is a guy good enough to use a spot on him as a QB3.

But for a developing rookie at the hardest position in sports, giving him a year to work on form and the playbook without the burden of game plans makes perfect sense.

And for a 2nd year starter who's developing into one of the best players in the league at his position, you want to give him a guy to bang ideas off of who's actually been in the system longer than he has.

Don't look at Moore as a guy who's not as good as either Dak or Rush who's inexplicably on the roster. He's a placeholder for Dak that helps him be a better starter and a guy who frees up Rush so that he can learn the job of NFL QB without the interruptions that come with the QB2 clipboard. Keeping Moore for one more year is better for both Dak and Rush in the long run, and costs almost nothing. I mean, it'll cost us an Emmit Cleary or whatever.

If Dak gets hurt, it'll probably be Rush getting the starter's reps in practice the next week, either way.

Agree
Keeping Moore is criminal at this point

If Dak got hurt....why would you not want an experienced qb who has shown an ability to play in the nfl who knows your system as the 3rd qb?

We can get by without keeping a bottom of the roster player. Every year people cry about who the Cowboys cut and 9 times out of 10 thry are garbage.

I feel like I should answer this, since I mistakenly thought Moore could be a good backup, I indeed should take my punishment at some point.

I agree with you. I think he should be cut. With that being said there are three do not touches at the end of the roster as far as I am concerned ... Rico, Cooper, and Noah. If the team thinks they need to keep a 3rd QB for whatever reason. and it doesn't involve cutting 1 of those 3, then I am good with their opinion.

Speaking of which, I saw Vince Mayle drop a very catchable pass for the Ravens the other day. I doubt he makes their 53.

I can't imagine a scenario where they cut either of those three and keep Moore.

We've got a pretty deep team this year, but our 54th player is still going to be a dude that's readily available on the FA market if we need them. And we won't go a year without cutting and adding guys, anyway. Nor should we. It's better to churn that bottom of the roster and keep people working hard than it is to sit tight clutching the 53 you protected at the beginning of the season.

why risk that 1 out of 10 when we know Moore is garbage? not to mention, what team is actually going to sign Kellen Moore?

Kellen is just stealing money and a roster spot at this point. It's gonna be a shame that some player that's showing promise will not make the team for some noodlearm that reached his very low peak two years ago.

I agree. This was my pittance for being bold earlier. I was hoping to bury it on the back pages.

We dont know Cooper's mental stamina. Its one thing to perform in pre-season,another in reg. season in a way that doesnt ruin him long term.

Safe route is to insulate him from stuff that has ruined many a' young Qb thru time.........

We may have had lightening strike twice in Qb ability (Dak & Rush)......but Dallas not risking it 2x on the mental side----

Logical explanation
There is no place for that on a message board lol
It does make sense if you look at it that way. Do you want your guy you are developing trying to mimick an opponents offense, or learning yours
I'm not a Moore fan at all but I do see your point and it could be that's the teams thinking also
