Not sure they will just head into the draft looking for a complement to Tony Pollard, who we have no idea if he will be ready for training camp. Here are a few names, that should come cheap at this juncture of fa:

-Kareem Hunt Browns
-Damien Harris Patriots
-Leonard Fournette Bucs
-Ronald Jones Chiefs
If this is the case, might as well have kept Zeke.

These 4 (Hunt, Harris, Fournette and Jones) are either all run down or never were that good.

Playmakers and difference makers are nice vague, great area descriptions. Spin.

The fact is that the guy gave us a little over 1,000 yards in 16 games. NOT franchise player numbers. And 371 yards receiving. Again, NOT franchise player numbers.

He’s also been a part-time player his entire career. NOT a franchise player.
and that is your opinion.

I feel we have missed the boat on the best out there. :

R.Penny $1.35 million
D.Foreman $3 million

Would have liked either

Yes it is.

Supported by facts.
Pollard is paid less than Jones whom the Packers also see as a playmaker and vital part of their team in terms of carries and reception they are on par with each other. Really means nothing that you feel different, had Dallas not paid someone else would. I'm glad we signed him

Meanwhile we franchise tag one for $10 million.

Agreed. I like Pollard. I think he has some good years left, but I also know he is coming off an injury and, in this market, he easily could have been signed for a much cheaper deal.

Seriously? Jones has proven he can be a #1 running back, with 3 seasons over 1,000 yards. Any other awful reaches you want to make?

Is that a tantrum?

I’m not. You’ll have to accept that.

He’s a very good player. But he’s not special. And he’s not a franchise caliber player worth $10 million for one season.

I remember fans trying to defend the team when they made the same mistake tagging Schultz last year. That didn’t come close to being worth it either.

But some fans have an automatic defense mechanism when it comes to the Cowboys and feel the need to defend and justify anything they do.

You don't want to have to reach to fill a need, especially with Pollard's status up in the air when he will return.

why do people keep saying his status is up in the air this is not an injury that will affect the regular season whatsoever not even a shadow of doubt he literally would be healed in three months 100% he’ll be ready for training camp they may easy man like I do with most starting running back they don’t get a lot of fuel time in preseason and what not but his injury is not something that will linger it will be 100% ready to go for the season

In the short term all the mini camps OTA‘s and much of training Camp the young guys like Malik Davis and the guy we draft will get plenty of snaps to see what they can do I’d be more worried about what we’re doing it left guard how we’re gonna run the football the scheme how we’re going to use the office of line with the run game is it gonna be zone is it gonna be power or we gonna bring it a full back I’m not worried about a veteran running back or I’m not worried about Pollard either

I find it ironic that everyone in here wanted to get rid of Elliot for two or three years now they wanted to give Pollard the starting job all last year and they said that you shouldn’t take a running back in the first round you don’t need anyone but her body to fill in at running back because it’s the easiest position in football to replace it now it seems like everyone’s worried the hypocrisy the backtracking it’s it’s comical sometimes

Cowboys may try to sign a vet I would not. Vet RB worth getting will cost and those you can find cheap I don't want. I think this draft is loaded with some very good RB through out the draft. I also think we have 2 young RB behind Pollard in Davis and Dowdle.
2-3 million with half guaranteed to probably what the rest would get on the open market, very small investment. Most backs that come into the league really struggle with protection, adding a veteran presence could have value.

and Pollard has not had the chance as starting RB but when put in a situation where he had to take on starters role has been highly successful with big games. No tantrum you have an opinion as do I. I accept you don't like it yet in the end I would think we both hope it turns out positive for this team.

Again Cowboy may I hope not I think there is ample talent in this draft for a backup RB. Im sorry I would not look for spend on RB in the market Hunt will not be cheap and those who you can find cheap I don't think have much left.

If you could get Hunt for 3 million with half of it guaranteed, would you consider it? You could be right, but also we know they like to address all needs prior to the draft so they don't have to force picks.

He has. But he’s also gotten hurt. And shown his shortcomings when asked to do things like pass protection.

We absolutely do. Thank you.

While we may disagree, we both ultimately hope for the best for our team.
