They're only putting 43 guys on each roster. I think they'd have to add a lot more teams to impact the NCAA.

Don't think so AC, too many loyalists to their alma maters. And there are too many college games with at least 10 just on Saturday alone.

If the XFL makes a hit with viewers, which is iffy at best, they will have little effect on 1A ball. The popularity of 1A ball is what has forced the NFL to change and increase scoring.

The XFL is going to struggle with name recognition. What got the public's attention over to the AFL was when the Jets signed Namath, that 400K contract was huge news back then. The XFL is going to have to find a way to drive the star power and they'll go the way that all of the other challengers have gone except the AFL.

I believe the public will view the XFL as semi pro ball unless they make a lot of noise with signings of names, real names, not from the past. And semi-pro ball did OK but it was not a televised product and that is the key to growth and long term survival.

And how will the NFL limit the number of FA''s coming up to stock those 8 teams? Will they be relegated to a bunch of high school no names that don't want to go to college and onto the big money in the NFL?

I'll be watching. A successful XFL, that puts any pressure at all on the NFL, is the only way we're going to see the NFL league office forced to show some accountability.

As much as I'd like for that to happen, I think it will die like the others.

However, one thing it does have going for it that the others didn't, fantasy ball. If they can get enough players to create enough interest to watch it, they have a chance because that is a large group of individuals.

The biggest question is are too many footballed out when they're kicking off? 5 months of solid football is a lot and the number of games grows every year.

The NFL not so secretly put it out there that they are looking to establish a developmental league as part of their next collective bargaining agreement before the 2021 season. They also think a developmental league would help strengthen the long-term health and sustainability of professional football.

That's what I've heard, which is why if the XFL hits it good with viewers, it might attract top athletes fresh out of high school who want to make money right away.

The only way the XFL succeeds if they get ballsy with their draft elgebility rules. If they can somehow get college Sophomores and transfers that have to sit out a year to sign with them it could get interesting. Otherwise it will just be a bad minor league football league that no one will watch

I'm a big believer in the need for a developmental football league. If done right, I think fans would support it. My issue is that these 4 leagues will oversaturate the market and not build up a big enough fan base capable of supporting it If you give fans too many choices on a new idea/product, they may just reject it all.

What I'm hoping now is that the NFL takes some of the innovation and ideas from these leagues and allows them to combine into one league, taking the strong franchises and forming an AFC - NFC type environment. The Alliance has some great ideas and solid football people (Bill Polian, Daryl Johnston, Phil Savage, etc.). The XFL has Oliver Luck , as well as Vince McMahon and DraftKings with some interesting ideas. I'm not liking what I'm seeing from the Freedom Football League and I don't think it will succeed. As far as the Pacific Pro League, I already like that Don Yee is challenging the conventional eligibility rules and is trying to lure Trevor Lawrence to be the face of the league while he waits for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Percent of profit. (i.e. pseudo ownership state).

It's possible that big name guys that help launch the league could continue to profit from it even if they only coach for a year or two.

How about this...XFL is a success. Slowly draws the stars away from the NFL. Number of franchises grows. It goes head to head and wins. Wouldn’t that be something. All those idiots that are ruining the NFL are destroyed.

I tell you the probability of that happening is not zero.
