Is it better then last year?...yea

Do we have potential and talent?....Yea

But we are to inconsistant to be even average..they are who they are.A defense going along for the ride.
What does 2004 have to do with 2007?

What does 2005 have to do with 2007?

What does 2006 have to do with 2007?

12-1 is below average? Okay.

Without this inconsistant defense, we would not be 12-1.

Can the defense improve? Absolutely, but offense and ST can also improve as well. No, sky isn't falling.

Not just a movie.

The thing that would have happened in those years is the defense wouldn't have made the stop when it needed to and the Cowboys would have lost yesterday.

Best record in 47 years of history and that is average, and yes the defense is 12-1 just as the offense is 12-1........

:D Well, People know that while I am happy we won this game, that I am not too happy about the performance this week. That being said, I think any *realist* has to wait till Next week's game to start worrying. I saw they had a poll on TV about whether this was a game for the boys to grow on, or a game that exposed our weaknesses. I automatically said it helps the cowboys grow, but then I had to think about how I am bias, since the two bad games the pats had, I said they exposed weaknesses. Also, our defense doesn't have to be perfect if the offense scores at least 31 points.

We gave up 7 points in the second half!

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!

It's not!...Is it better than last year? Probably. But we are an average defense that has looked good because our offense has been top notch.

You could say we are very similar to the Pats.... except our defense is better in the Red Zone.

The Pattiots and their fans probably are feeling real good about their season... as wel they should be... but I bet you they dont want to face us in the SB.

You should go back and look at WP's defense with San Diego (2004-2006). This defense is starting out way better than that one.

Believe it or not, a lot of it is the scheme. Yes, it's by design.

The defense didn't play that well yesterday. The offense didn't either. We won, and thats good. In the previous years when we had a down game like this it would have been a loss.

We aren't a perfect team. We don't come out and always click on all cylinders immediately. But people are acting like our defense is the worst in the league, when its at worst in the upper half, most likely upper third of this league right now.

I don't think the Pats are worried about facing us in the SB. They are probably arrogant and just see how badly the Pats beat us last time.

12-1 is below average? Okay.

Psychological implications. For example, a player like Greg Ellis had a tendency to wear down the final few games of the season. This may impact his approach a little bit. But I'm sure our players are mentally strong enough to prevent that from getting to them...

It's not!...Is it better than last year? Probably. But we are an average defense that has looked good because our offense has been top notch. We are a team that is built to stop the run...that was how Parcells and most old school coaches think. Heck Troy Aikman even said the other day "I cringe when I hear coaches say we have to stop the run and run the football" But that is not true of the better teams in the NFL. Favre, Manning, and Brady will light you up if you cannot stop the pass. That should be where our concerns lie. Stop looking at how we perform against teams that will not be playing in January....those 3 teams should be our concern if we our THINKING Super Bowl.

It is ok to be happy with a win....but every fan who voices concern about the defense has a legitimate gripe if you ask me. Fans like me will not be the least bit surprised when if our season ends because of the defense....I guess the rest of you will complain AFTER it happens. But when we get in a single elimination tournament, there will not be any opportunities to "correct it next week"

We are big and slow for the most part on defense...that will need to be corrected this offseason. More speed in the secondary and at interior LBer is needed.

12-1. The team still needs fixing, but then again just consider how many of our players are in their hurting, they arent walking off the field and staying off. These players are coming back and playing with all they got while other teams just sit their "hurt"players. Our defense isnt great, but they did just enough, they made somewhat of a stand in the red zone, and for this game it was enough. They aren't great, but they're NFC East Champs, enjoy.

Our TOP in the second half improved as well, i.e. our defense was on the field less...

I guess you didnt see Belichick in panic mode talking to his defense during our game. He wanted it bad and it took everything they had to get it from us.

The weakest link for the Pats is their defense... now if Harrison could just fail another steroid test... then we would be in! :D

A little TOP adjustment and a few less penalties and we win the NEXT game.

That is not accurate at all.

In 2005 he was essentially benched to get spears and cany on the field.

In 2006 he was injured and didnt play in the second half.

Where do people come up with this stuff.

Going on that theory... being that he didnt start the first 3 games.... He wont get tired until AFTER the SB LOL

i think our defense just had a bad game against a team with extra motivation(newman and james) that was playing for there last shot at the playoffs

Dont get butt hurt about my opinion..

If the defense wouldnt be so insonstant or give up tons of points we wouldnt have to be talking about this right now....making a stop when i counts is the least they can do.

Stop players like Jackson, or edwerds for Buffalo and that nobody fromt he Jets is the least they can do...Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
