IM 53 years old. Ive been a fan since 1977. Im starting to have friends and family pass away. I live and die by this team all fall. BUT...seasons can not only be fun if you win a title. I coached softball for 20 years at a very high level, and I always told my girls that the game could not only be fun if you win The game is always fun. I live in ca and i will be going to the opener with my wife and oldest daughter and the the chargers, Cards and niners games with my oldest daughter. I hope we win a title.... but it is damn hard. So as we prepare for the 2023 season... step back, take a breath and enjoy the damn season. I want nothing more than for this team to win a sb....but not one person in here will have a better life if we do. Enjoy the ride, enjoy the games..... and go Cowboys!

Every year there’s 31 failures to get it. You SB or bust fans have a right to feel that way but you don’t have a right to minimize the fandom of fans who enjoy the ride

and you just made the point. Life happens quickly and as we get older and start losing family and friends.... perspective on NFL games starts to com in focus.
I have my first wedding as a father in Oct. Perspective is a beautiful thing.

Ive already got tickets for 3 of the 4 games I will attend this year. 2 of those games (Cardinals and Chargers) will be just myself and my oldest daughter. i can promise you that we are gonna have a damn good time and make some memories. It will suck if we dont win.....but if we do or dont win, it wont change the fact Im gonna have a great time.

sports are for kids. watch the games, read a bit about the team, treat it like a hobby. if you sit around all sunday watching football and can't sleep because your team lost, youre doing it wrong. just squeeze what entertainment you can from the games and move on. life is too busy and full to put that kind of energy into a kids game paid by overpaid men!

You don't have to win but you don't get to do things like extend Zeke early, pay Jaylon Smith, pay Tyrone Crawford year after year, trade away premium picks for over rated WRs. The list is endless. If you do these things you lose the right to say we did all we could and it is hard to win.

Same age here been a fan since 76-77. I don't have time for misery only good times and enjoying the things I like.

Well said. One thing about these Jerry teams is that they always keep the season interesting. We are the same age and been a fan since the late 70s as well

teams do all of the things you just mentioned..... ALL teams. Didnt the Jets just give up a bunch for an old Rodgers? The brincos for a mediocre Wilson... yet a few years ago so many in this foru would have been talking about he Broncos being a model of how to operate. The only thing the Broncos had over other teams was Peyton Manning. Just the like the ats... model franchise, great coach... patriot way. All of it is a bunch of garbage. Like the Broncos... the Pats had Tom Brady. Now that Brady is gone, the Pats SUCK!!!!


Tell me more about the "Patriot way." The Patriot way was all about the Brady way.

My daughter played select softball for a longtime, you will not find a more thankless job dealing with ridiculous parents...some would spend thousands on "Angel's" pitching lessons a week and when she still couldn't pitch it was of course the coaches fault... i feel for this guy..lol

You think the sport is somehow less? I was coaching against D1 all Americans that went on to play for team USA. So try to belittle me all you want. For the sport I coached... I was competing against the best the sport had to offer.

My teams played against players that were national Gatorade player of the year that then won an NCAA title at UCLA... so yea, I coached at a pretty high level.

I did it for 20 years and I didnt put up with much. Only had a few parents like that in my time... because I got rid of them pretty fast. No matter how good the kid was.
