My daughter played select softball for a longtime, you will not find a more thankless job dealing with ridiculous parents...some would spend thousands on "Angel's" pitching lessons a week and when she still couldn't pitch it was of course the coaches fault... i feel for this guy..lol
Oh, I feel for Reid too, but not for the same reason you do.

You think the sport is somehow less? I was coaching against D1 all Americans that went on to play for team USA. So try to belittle me all you want. For the sport I coached... I was competing against the best the sport had to offer.

My teams played against players that were national Gatorade player of the year that then won an NCAA title at UCLA... so yea, I coached at a pretty high level.
Who cares? It's not belittling the sport, it's laughing at the notion that this makes you more qualified to lecture us on how we should feel about the Cowboys. I mean, this is you every year, but it's still chuckle-worthy.

Lecturing? I dont care what you do... but the whining over every little ting is exhausting. The reason I seem to spend less time in here each year... you whiners.

I like all animals but we’ve got too many cats killing our birds and squirrels and I know that’s what cats are supposed to do instinctually. So I get the bright idea to put a trap out in the back yard with tuna in it to catch a couple of these feral cats and give them to farmers who gladly take them.

long story short, I wind up with the angriest raccoon on steroids in the trap instead ……cats must be too smart for that setup.
  :lmao2:

I doubt most members would talk football if we met over a beer....this **** is too funny

Uh....the "old timers" come from a generation of earning everything they got.

You seem to be highly confused on what participation trophies are and how your generation doesn't know how to earn anything.
I’m proud to say that I’ve never received a participation trophy in my life and I played sports in high school and college. The closest thing I got to a participation trophy was my college coach telling me “that sucks for you but we already got your replacement “ when I told him I needed season ending rotator cuff surgery.

IM 53 years old. Ive been a fan since 1977. Im starting to have friends and family pass away. I live and die by this team all fall. BUT...seasons can not only be fun if you win a title. I coached softball for 20 years at a very high level, and I always told my girls that the game could not only be fun if you win The game is always fun. I live in ca and i will be going to the opener with my wife and oldest daughter and the the chargers, Cards and niners games with my oldest daughter. I hope we win a title.... but it is damn hard. So as we prepare for the 2023 season... step back, take a breath and enjoy the damn season. I want nothing more than for this team to win a sb....but not one person in here will have a better life if we do. Enjoy the ride, enjoy the games..... and go Cowboys!
Nice perspective. Good for you bro. I’ve been working on keeping this in perspective. Have fun at the games with your family and the memories you will share with your wife and daughter will be treasured regardless of the final score. Family first!

Go Cowboys!!!!

I agree, but bear in mind that just because people complain each week, or even every day, it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't having fun the rest of the time.

Well said my friend, well said. But you have to try and understand the mindset of a few of the whiners/complainers here. They are definitely very weak people and many of them have pretty low IQs. They are the type that got bullied most of their lives and the only way to make themselves feel empowered is to complain/whine and talk down on players and coaches of their "supposed" favorite team.

They devalue the talents of professional players despite other professionals in that same sport speaking the total opposite of what those same players are capable of.

Again, this is a great post, but always remember.... the people here that whine over this and that regarding this team, are very, very weak people in real life. This internet makes them feel brave, empowered and certified.

There's always people crying in here about something. Too much emotion and not enough objectivity. Wait till the regular season starts.

They're weak soft people bro. That's actually their parents fault for being weak *** parents.

I support your message lol I mean I never heard so much negativity over a preseason game and training camp and all the talk about the interception just getting really tired.. I mean Alan Iverson said it best, we talkin bout practice???.

Apparently we are making a big deal about practice and preseason games as if it's somehow gonna have a bearing on the regular season...

and you just made the point. Life happens quickly and as we get older and start losing family and friends.... perspective on NFL games starts to com in focus.
I have my first wedding as a father in Oct. Perspective is a beautiful thing.

Ive already got tickets for 3 of the 4 games I will attend this year. 2 of those games (Cardinals and Chargers) will be just myself and my oldest daughter. i can promise you that we are gonna have a damn good time and make some memories. It will suck if we dont win.....but if we do or dont win, it wont change the fact Im gonna have a great time.
Congratulations, I have my oldest sons wedding coming up on the 25th of this month , so I get the sentiment. New life is something to look forward to. Enjoy the Game (We will Win, Shhh don't tell anybody LOL)

I plan to enjoy the season even if I don't believe they'll make it to the SB.

What I find of supreme irony is just how many people whine about other fans whining and telling them to stop. People can be fans of a team however they want to be. Don't like it? Tough.

I am 51 and been a Cowboys since 77’ when I saw them on TV. I use to be upset when they didn’t win but as I have gotten older, there is more to life. My daughter is getting married next June and my parents are getting up there in age. My father is starting to get the onset of dementia. We moved my parents closer to us so we can keep an eye on him. I can understand some people being frustrated with this team and if they want to whine let them do it. It is their right. I also remind myself that this team can have a shot next year but that is not always the case in some sports. In some sports if you don’t win it you have to wait another 4 years and you have to qualify if you want to have the opportunity to be at the pinnacle of your sport. WC and the Olympics come to mind. So whine if you want to but as for me, I have other things to be more concern about.
