Romo is out for only four games potentially. He's up and around and moving just fine. Waiting for a bone to heal, which is generally six weeks, which would only be four games.

We'll see.

I am hoping that Dak will make you believe. I am definitely being HOMERISH here. Ironic how the tables have turned eh?

LOL, you haven't been right yet. Not once. LOL

You can't understand how exceptional Romo has been. I'd bet you're one of those know-nothings that has been bagging on him for years.

I was right about Romo was I not?

I was right about McClain and Gregory was I not?

If I am right about Dak then its time you started marking my words. Time will tell.

And I have been the biggest Romo supporter ever. Its just obvious that he cant take it anymore. And with Dak in the wings, its time to start hoping/wishing for the new era to dawn.

You're just a typical Romo hater. It's transparent as hell.

You couldnt be more wrong. But there is no way you could know that. I have really only been here the last two years. Trust me, I love Romo. But I love the Cowboys more.

Are we rooting for Dak to have enough success that we won't want Romo to come back?

Sorry for asking the tough questions.

I think it's more that we won't "need" Romo to come back. I don't think there's a person on this board that wants to see Romo go out this way. But just like any other position in football, there comes a time when a player becomes more of a progress stopper than anything else. This team is not going anywhere with or without Romo this year so why not see if Dak can be the future?.....

If every team got rid of rookie QB's that were 6-10 in their first season, wouldn't be many around. Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Andrew Luck had bad rookie seasons.

That's why I said, "if he's obviously not the answer". I totally agree that we shouldn't just dump him after a 6-10 season. I know it sounded that way.....

Eh, Tony's not done yet. He's coming back and probably sooner than we think, but I will agree, he truly is now, one hit away.

I thought Michael Irvin summed it up pretty well on Mike & Mike today. Let's take 7 games as a barometer.

If Dak goes 5-2 and Tony's ready, there's a controversy.
If Dak goes 2-5, Tony is behind the eight ball and has a lot of work ahead of him to bring us back.
If Dak is 3-4 or 4-3, the fans understand Dak needs some work and can't wait for Tony to get back and we're still alive.

Never a dull moment, that's for sure.

I see options #2 or #3 will happen for us. I just do not see 5-2 or better not with a rookie and this terrible defense. I see romo playing again this year.

We don't know that this team isn't going anywhere with or without Romo. That's speculation .

But if Romo can provide a better opportunity to win now why wouldn't we want that option?

We will need Dak to help win some games or Romo's return will be too late to salvage the season . At that point we might be better off to let Dak play it out. We'll just have to see .

Its a certainty that if Romo can play he will be in there. Does he have anything left in the tank?? I think he is at the end l mean he has played 10 long years and taken a bad beating. Prescott, at this point is not the saviour...but l sure would enjoy seeing him win say 7 or 8 games. lt would make the future feel a little better.

If Romo was healthy, you'd be 100% correct. But that's not the case, and might not be at all this season. We won't know for sure until at least game 4 at best, game 9 or 10 at worst. If were out of it by game 10, do we let Romo play at all this year or let Dak finish out? If there's nothing to gain but playing experience by game 10, you stick with Dak.....

For example if we are like 0-6 or 1-5 do we bring Romo back if we're basically already out.

Who knows , we might still not be able to win without Romo.

Anyway, in that scenario do we risk him injuring himself again or do we let him rest for next year and set ourselfs up for # 1 pick next year after seeing Dak isn't all we thought he was.

And Why it may ride on how well Dak does and how desperate we become.

If we start out winless the pressure will mount for Romo's return even if he isn't close to a 100%.

Yes. If the season goes south, and it could, play it out with the kids and go for the franchise QB. It would be the best option.

Looking at the schedule Im looking at the bye week to be a good time to bring Romo back based on the time frame provided .

But the timing I think is going to revolve more about how Dak is doing and most importantly our record .

I've never seen a rookie have success beyond a minimal level. Granted, this is a far better offense than what most rookie QBs have when they start. If Dak can manage 3 wins, Romo can take a run from there. This team isn't doing anything meaningful without Romo.

It's either a run at a title with Romo, or a developmental year with Dak. It's too bad for Witten and Romo if it's the latter.

Looking forward to seeing Dak play a full game with all of our starters. We already know what Romo can do when healthy. Bring on the Giants so that we can settle this dispute.

What's the absolute worst thing that can happen if we're out of it at 0-6 and keep Romo on the bench? We might get a very high draft pick? It's not like Romo would need the game experience at that point. Why risk further injury? By letting Dak play, he not only gets experience but he develops a rapport with guys like Dez, Zeke and the oline, who he could be around for years to come.....
