It sure looks to me like the defenses have done a great job of containing him in the pocket recently. There are a lot of plays where he's holding the ball but there's no exit to the left or right. And it's a lot harder to throw the ball away safely when you're trapped in the pocket. When he can escape, he doesn't generally hang onto it.
Well there you go seeing something no one else is even mentioning, who you going to believe, all the armchair quarter backs or your lying eyes. LOL

I don't know about all time but definitely in many years

My following the draft only goes back to maybe the early 80's, and I don't have a steel trap for a brain, so which drafts would top it? I mean, right now it's early, but it seems clear we locked up the QB and RB position for 8-10 years barring something unusual. That itself puts it in the top 4-5 drafts. I know 89 was a big year with Aikman, Moose, and, I think, Stepnoski. Not sure what is considered the "top" draft class ever for Dallas though.

That's because Romo falls down at any sign of pressure like a sack of potatoes. Dak is very good at climbing the pocket but doesn't have the awareness that Romo does of where ball needs to go when it gets tight.

1964 three hall of fame players including roger
Probably the best to me
More modern times 1989 got Troy, stepnoski, moose and Tolbert
Time will tell if a couple make the HOF but it was a great draft with getting a starting qb in the 4th. Will even be better if smith can return to form and Collins continue to grow as a player, a 6th CB who can start is a major steal too

Dak holds onto the ball too long last 3 games. Incomplete passes are far better than negative plays.

If we stop shooting ourselves in the foot imagine how many points we could score.
Thereis some truth to this , the OL needs to block longer and that leads to mistakes.
That's why the play calling needs to be brisk and keep the D guessing , slow developing plays should be kept to a minimum, and crisp routes needed to be run by WRs and get open , Dak needs to have mental clock 3-4 secs and the ball should be away , or tucked in and run .

I understand chastising fans. You are a twitter frequenter after all.

I understand offensive penalties and their effect on drives. It is undeniable.

Nonetheless, Daks inability to complete a high percentage of passes in the RZ is a huge limiting factor as well. Dak has only 1 RZ interception and his rating is still mediocre. He doesn't throw a high percentage nor does he score often through the air down there.

We run the ball in or we are unlikely to score.

As for Romo, he completes a higher percentage in the RZ, similarly doesn't turn it over and scores a heck of a lot more.

I also do not agree on the characterization of those sacks. Against the Vikings and Giants Dak was running from ghosts and into containment after 4 seconds of pass protection. All sacks are not created equal.

It stands to reason that Romo's ability to diagnose and execute reading formation and coverages would have him get the ball out quickly or at least quickly relative to what PRescott has been doing the past month.

It's not certain and it's a moot point after Dak's performance this past week but LCD fan stupidity doesn't mean there is not a well reasoned basis for Romo.
Did Oprah tell you that on her latest special?

"He hasn't played well and healthy in nearly 2 years"

This is the key statement regarding Romo. Like they say, everyone seems better once they are done playing, just like retired coaches. As the retirement years go by, they become a better head coach. Case in point, Jon Gruden.

People forget that when Romo was healthy in 2015 the offense didn't resemble 2014's. We can't blame all of that on Murray being in Philly,
either. In my eyes, Tony had started his decline. This latest injury may have spared him some of the criticism that comes from subpar play.

Shoot, it's likely that Tony goes somewhere in the offseason and stinks it up due to just not being able to physically do it anymore. It's just as likely that he goes elsewhere and tears it up because he's well-rested, healthy and his back is as strong as ever. It all remains to be seen.
