Really? Kyle Kosier was an established veteran player when he came to Dallas. Nothing like the work in progress that is Arkin.

I agree here. Kosier was a good solid player people just didn't like because of his draft status, the team she played for (a bad SF team, and DET), and his relatively expensive contract given his perceived status.

Arkin's a guy struggling after three seasons to be a primary backup at a position of obvious need. Though, he has looked better this year in camp, which has been a nice surprise.

True.

Arkin would need to up his game to get to Kosier level.

Several notches, Mikey. Kosier was a very underrated player. Not a centerpiece by any means but when you can fill out the holes in your OL with guys like Kosier you're doing pretty well for yourself.

Maybe he meant Arkin could develop into that kind of player. Because he would have to be a technically sound zone blocking type rather than a road grader.

Yeah. This gets trotted out in every Costa debate. This game was in his sixth game as a starter as a second year player where the exploited his tendency to not get set quickly enough. This was the primary adjustment he made later in the season when his level of play improved.

Nobody, as far as I know, claims the second year starter who shocked everybody and beat Gurode out in camp was going to step in without growing pains. He got owned in this game, and I think everybody saw it.

There are multiple games across multiple seasons in that video. Costa gets owned in all of them. It happened in 2012 too, in the little that he played.

Costa is not starting material. Frankly I'd rather better as a backup too.

Ah, sorry. I only watched the first few seconds and thought it was that awful NE compilation. Either way, we're probably both happy we've upgraded with Frederick.

If we're arguing mistakes here. Lets look at drafting a TE in the second and WR in the third...

It is arguable that the Kosier signing gave us more bang for the buck then any FA signing for the last 15 years.

It's arguable that they had more pressing needs but given the recent signings I'm warming up to the idea this team is more right track than wrong track,,, Jerry's crew is beginning to deserve the benefit of a doubt and Escobar/Williams might just be huge for us. :)

These posts are hilarious. Care to actually put yourself out there and tell us who YOU would have drafted, so that we can compare notes after the season? You do realize that we want to run a base-12 and there's a chance Miles will not be with us next season, right?
