Everybody go take a look at Romo's last December. He was the best QB in the league. 12 tds 1 int, 74 completion percentage and a 133 qb rating.

One more game like the last two from Dak and I bet we get to find out if Tony is still at that level.

Zeke was regularly running 10 yard runs the whole first half.. Smith on the left-side was utterly destroying the defenders lined up against him and so was Martin.. JPP wasn't playing and the right-edge defender was having a hard time getting past Doug Free..

Dak had plenty of time.. it's not like the Giants made the first half difficult for him..

of course he has, everyone does except Tom Brady...

although brady may struggle tonight.

not even sure what the argument was to be honest. Just pointing out what you ask of your qb is to win the game late in the league today and I think both romo and dak have been excellent at that.
I was never arguing just saying some are acting as if Romo never had a bad game. That isn't true so for those people doing don't rewrite history as if others haven't saw the same games you have. If you aren't sure what the "argument" maybe you shouldn't be in an "argument" in the first place lol

On board with most of it but taking shots at Romo over 2008, 11 and 12, when Dallas either couldn't or wouldn't run the frigging ball is low and disingenuous for Sturm. He is pushing a conflation fallacy. Not only that...no one can argue that the current line is light years ahead of what Romo had over the three years mentioned by Sturm...not to mention the putrid defense that blew a 12 point lead with 5 minutes to play vs. the Giants in 2012. Prescott simply blew last night, culminating in a disastrous second half where he lost complete control of the offense. He had enough defense and running game to get it done. I can remember a guy throwing 5 INTs against Buffalo in 2007 and still fighting to a win late in the fourth quarter.
QB gets all the credit when they win, get the blame when they lose. Something Romo has to live with.

You mean the system that got Garrett demoted and was throwing 85% from shotgun and last in the league in play-action? You think Dak would get as good results as Romo in that system? You mean the system where Wade was trying to bring Dan Reeves here because Garrett couldn't field a decent running game?

Khiladi I'm not sure what this was aimed at. You know I've never been a JG fan over the years. I'm only talking about what we are running now and what was similar in 2014. I have no clue how Dak would do in that old O. Again I think the first quarter last night was heavy on run and play action where we got a TD. Then we dropped run for Dak dropping straight back and being a target. If that was your point..agree. If not, no clue

If you mean 2014, Romo's December in this system has already blown Dak out of the water in the 'same system' though I would even argue this system has more of Linehan's stamp on it then in 2014..

Everyone in this city was prepared to roll with Dak Prescott as their QB, under the circumstances that he never dropped his form below "excellent." But, of course, the moment his form invariably would drop - whether it was a normal rough night by any QB in the business or a very nice defense having a perfect idea of how to rattle a young lad - you just knew that the masses would instantly and immediately turn and go running for the veteran QB who looked ready on the sidelines.

He (Dak) was bad. There is no way to dress that up. It happens. In fact, two-time Super Bowl champion and likely hall of famer QB Eli Manning was equally ridiculous last night and seemed sure to throw a game-breaking interception last night on a few occasions where the Cowboys simply dropped them. And Tony Romo, the source of hope for people who want to see him back out there to fix everything, has had more than his share of vital and important December divisional road games that have ended up in the dumpster in flames, lest we forget 2008, 2011, and 2012. Neither are rookies. This happens.

Nobody likes the taste of defeat. Everyone enjoys vanquishing one silly opponent after the next. But, that isn't this league. That isn't reality.
Reality is getting kicked in the teeth once in a while and understanding the stakes are going to keep getting raised. Panic is likely the worst recipe. The best advice is to nurse the wounds, look at the film, and get ready for Game #14. 11-2 is a fantastic spot to be in and it is important to understand how badly anyone else in the NFC would love to switch spots with you. Dallas has earned this perch by being consistently strong and not allowing bad habits to sink in. And with three games to play, the Cowboys have done that.
Hammer those nails, Strum, hammer those nails. :hammer::hammer:

That's great but I'm not anti-Romo and never have been. I'm anti overreaction regarding an 11-2 team that had one stinker and whose backup hasn't seen meaningful action in 2 years. Just reality. You and I have always seen eye to eye on most when it comes to coaching, etc. I'm just not jumping right now

lol, the deep pass isn't in dez,

1. it was into deep safety double coverage,
2. it wasn't even taking him away from the safety, terrible qb play

You would like to see the WR be competitive on that pass. I would wait for All-22 to come out before assigning blame to somebody.

He can say all he want about Romo having "bad" december games. The truth is that Romo has never ever looked like Prescott looked last night.

There was not a single time in that second half where I though Prescott would march us down the field. He has played okay (against Washington) and very poorly the last two weeks. If he plays that poorly again, it should absolutely be back to Romo.

Romo looked this bad just last Thanksgiving.

I remember a buffalo game in 2007 where Romo threw more passes to the opposing team than ours. Dak had a bad game, he still played better than a QB that many rate a top 4.... Russell Wilson= 5 INTs in one game against the same team (minus Rodgers for one quarter) at the same place where Dak lit Green Bay up. There's a reason no team in a modern era has gone undefeated in a season.

Romo has looked worse. Two pick sixes vs Carolina in his last start when he broke his collarbone again.

Coming back quickly from an injury, not ready to play because of little preparation and a team in absolute disarray including Dez with the foot injury and that too against a brutal Panthers defense that year..

Zeke was running close to 100 yards last night and had all the time in the world to sit in the pocket.. and weeks of preparation..

That is not even remotely close.

Romo was literally coming back early from an injury in order to try and save our season.

So you think Romo is going to play better then Dak when he has not played a regular season game in over a year?

I think Romo would have needed six games to get this offense rolling on all cylinders. I doubt he would have made it through without an injury. Dak has been pounded the last two games.

how about the 44-6 debacle by Romo and the boys in Philadelphia in 2008,with the playoffs on the line.Romo's had plenty of bad days all quarterbacks do.

I've seen Romo look worse. Much much worse. I thought we would absolutely win the game after Dez finally caught a pass. Unfortunately he fumbled. That's not on Dak. Neither was the missed FG or the two int's both on Dez.

No you have NEVER seen Romo look MUCH worse than that. Bad games sure but define much.

Cmon man he had a horrible game. We know it, the team knows it and mostly Dak knows it. It won't be his last either - it happens.

Nothing wrong with admitting it and Im pretty sure Dak doesn't want anyone defending it..

He'll bounce back.
