A former 1st round pick (Brandon Weeden) and a former pro bowler (Matt Cassell) inherited the same things last year....and produced a season worse than the Dave Campo years.
There was no Zeke or Murray which is fundamental to what we do.

I will give Dak credit for going to the outside WR way more than either of these guys mentioned, but Beasley is his top WR. That's what less able QBs have to do to survive.

They are writing this as though Dak would have started if there were not injuries.
It was a fluke situation where both players in front of him went down before the opener. That is the ONLY reason he started the opener.

Once he got his chance, he took off though. The rest, so far, his history.
:flagwave:

No, they wrote it as if Dak was the opening day starter - which he was.

Ridiculous.

Dak inherited the best offensive line in football, the next Adrian Peterson in the draft, a Hall of Fame tight end, and a terrific group of receivers.

Dak is great value in the 4th round, but he's no Tom Brady, Roger Staubach, or Warren Moon in draft value. He's not even Tony Romo.
And you're basing this on what? I'm not saying he will be better than those guys in the long haul, but so far his rookie season has been better than any of those guys' rookie seasons.

There is just not enough information to make that statement.

He didn't say he is, he basically said he is perhaps. He of course leaves the door open for some degree of "perhaps not".

They didn't get to play their rookie year, and if they did, they didn't inherit the best offensive line in the game, the next Adrian Peterson in the draft, a Hall of Fame tight end, and a great group of receivers.

Dak walked into the perfect offense for any rookie.

And the most lucky pick! Thank god the Cowboys got him or we would be looking at .500 seasons for another decade.

I'm generally a fan of Sturm's work, but that's preposterously silly at this stage.

6th rounder Brady has gone to how many Super Bowls?

No denying Dak in the 4th is a home-run though.

wasnt Montana a 4th

Hyperbole run amok to say the least...

The rush to make Dak the greatest QB ever has officially gotten to the silly stage.

That's not the claim. The claim is that Dak has been the greatest value draft pick in NFL history based on his rookie year. Who would you place above him?

That's the thing. I don't even care... I think the argument and rush to annoint rookies, no matter the position is silly. Let the kid gain a real body of work.

Maybe it's just me..

I just want the Cowboys to secure home-field advantage. There are a lot of tough games coming up.
