I could be wrong, but I think the CB broke before tony was rolled on by hicks.
He landed on his elbow and that took the force of the fall.

That might well be. Either way, they're fragile bones. They can't be protected surgically.

I'd be happier to hear he got a judo trainer and some training on how to fall properly during the offseason. I know defenders try to drive that shoulder into the ground, but changing the point of impact is the only thing that's going to protect him in that situation. Or just practicing taking more sacks if he's going to end up exposing his off shoulder. This might be one where it's his bravado and not his skeleton that's the problem.

Does anyone actually believe in the benevolence of a defender not taking a shot at breaking his collar bone if they get the right angle.

Remember back to the time when Aikman was sacked by Clyde Simmons, where the Eagle lifted Aikman and then threw his weight onto Troy, separating his shoulder.

So the Cowboys go where Romo takes them. If it means win or loss for the other team, do any of you believe there isn't a target on that collar bone?

I firmly believe when he got the back injury in 2014, the Commander defender led with his knee to Romo's back. Every replay made me more convinced they knew his back was sore, and were willing to knock him out of the game to win.

This is the major reason I believe you position yourself to get Wentz, because this story will not end with a trophy for Tony if the other team has a shot at ending his day, season, or career.

To view this any other way is flirting with disaster.

Yup and will be the fall of the peacemaker(s).

It's a relative term. Relative to a collarbone, he's a giant. What distinction are you trying to make?

oh good grief, he didn't get landed on by a giant, hell I guess a 15 pound baby is a giant relative to a collarbone

I agree , and they are not addressing that issue.
I dont think having a plate put in is going to help that much, and I think people and the cowboys are over reacting to the CB issue.

I'm asking what difference that makes in your mind to the argument. These are the types of large men who will be tackling Romo in the future. If you're not comfortable with the term 'giant', ok. It's got nothing to do with the point whatsoever as far as I can tell.

Are you disagreeing with anything? Or just quibbling over the word choice?

If they want to protect Romo why are we having plays that take so long to develop? Looking at Brady and how fast they get rid of the ball I don't see why we can't implement something similar to help with Romo's situation here. Of course it probably won't happen since Garrett is too stubborn to change his plays. But its the easiest and most effective way to insure Romo doesn't get hurt.

Honestly I am more worried about Tony's back. This is typical pre training camp fodder.

On their way up, they played a club I worked in Dallas called Mother Blues. Really a lousy turnout for them because it was a Tuesday night. So I got to stand behind my bar and watch their set. The stage was too small for them, but they flat out jammed that place. Even though there were maybe thirty people there. This would have been around 78 or so. Always liked them. But then Skynard crashed and died and Southern Rock went the way of the dinosaurs.

I think their big number that night was Dreams I'll Never See.

My favorite song on that album was "The Creeper"

I had that Frazetta poster as well as the one with Conan battling the two viking demigods in the mountains,

My record collection had over 1300 albums before I sold it three years ago for over $2000. Frank Frazetta and Roger Dean (Yes, Asia, and Budgie) were two of the most renowned artists used by rock bands on their albums......Around the same time the Cowboys were at the height of their dominance. (Making the post relevent to the Cowboys).

I don't think this means that anyone should panic, just that there's more reason than ever to prepare. Both for now in terms of getting a capable backup, and for the future by drafting the next franchise quarterback.

Prepare, plan ahead, cover yourself. Hope for the best, be ready for the worst.

Draft a QB?

That is the key but won't be easy. Selections are thin.

I think they can get McCoy if they want him. I think he'd love to be back in Texas. I just hope it's not a guy on his last legs like Matt Hasselbeck. While he played well this year, I get a Brad Johnson vibe where his wheels are about to fall off.

Based on? Since when is drafting any QB a guarantee that you are "most likely set" in this league?

One thing about it to remember is that without any effort to get Romo's replacement, we are going to stink for years to come. It may take a couple of tries, but without a good QB, there will be 20 more years of being losers. A team can't be successful if they are scared of failure. It makes no sense to avoid drafting a player because he may be a bust.

Either Jerry Jones is lying or setting up a smokescreen when he says he expects Romo to play four more years or he actually believes it.

Either way, if you're reading the tea leaves, the Cowboys MUST take a quarterback at 4 if you think either Wentz, Goff or Lynch can be productive starters.

If Jones passes on a quarterback given all the information he has available to him, he has to be one of the dumbest GMs around.

The assumption that we will most likely be set if we go QB at 4 is flawed thinking. There are other ways to obtain talent far less risky than using a resource like that high of a draft pick.
