Garrett can't coach period.
I logged in just to like this. lol
Garrett can't coach period.
When Weed was the QB everyone demanded that they "bring in" Cassel and lamented on why they didn't "bring in" Cassel sooner.

No, it's just from observing other HCs. When their team is losing, fans often think all other HCs must be great but in reality most other HCs make a lot of bad decisions and many never get a good grip on their lockerroom. Some are good for a short time but either lose the team or can't get along with the front office.
Even some top HCs have not proven anything without super star QBs.
Let me guess.....you consider yourself part of the 1%?
Fans always want the problem to be coaching, because they believe coaching is easy to fix. Just bring in some genius and all of the problems will be solved. It's much more difficult to face the reality that your season hinges on your QB, and they are REALLY hard to find.
If it's always about scheme or philosophy it's easy to fix - just make and adjustment, yell more, go for it on fourth down. But if it's about not having guys who are good enough then you are kind of screwed. Right now, at QB we are not good enough. This is life without a top 5 QB. The team plays its collective *** off and loses anyway.
Right now we're at an extreme deficit at the most important position on the field. No scheme will fix that, no adjustment will cure the problem. But the team keeps competing with the guys we can field, and I haven't seen any hint of them giving up in spite of the fact that our QB is on the sidelines and the guys we have to replace him are, relatively speaking, scrubs.
It is an example and has nothing to do with being a detective. Maybe the example is just too complicated for you to understand.
The offense was definitely the hero last year.
I like Marinelli as a coach. I think he is great with the players and he's a great motivator. I just question whether or not the game may have passed him by just a little. That said, I am happier with him than I am with Garrett.
You guys keep saying this, Sherman followed him to the slot as well.

Nobody would say that X.
For God's sake, first play after the pick run a play action pass for a TE down the seam and lets at least try to win the game....if the play isn't there check down to a running back. Is that too much to ask? Garrett is an imbecile.
Garrett can't coach period.
This symptom epitomizes the fact that not one person on this board knows anything about this game. No matter how much all-22 they watch or buzz words they toss out about this game.
Or clever straw man signatures that belie the truth.
The seam has Kam and Earl. Thats a dangerous throw for any QB.
Campo never lost five in a row...with the likes of Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner, Anthony Wright, and Quincy Carter starting at quarterback.
Strurm nailed it!! It is really hard to see why anyone would argue that point. It does not make you less of a fan to admit the coaching is bad.
Ouch…that one will leave a mark.
the coaching is bad on both sides of the ball. but I disagree with his assessment on this one. at that point of the game. it was a 10-9 game. a defensive battle. the defense had held their offense to 9 points. they had a total of 230 yards of offense. so why take a high risk with a struggling offense? you take the points. get the lead. and TRUST that your defense would make a crucial stop. that's just as gutsy and risky. the problem is the defense didn't.
Remind me again just how many times the defense has screwed the pooch in the final minutes of the last quarter (under Garrett). The defense...paper tiger that it is...has few skins on the wall at present, which is not to insinuate that that situation won't change going forward...but they are still finding their legs.
It is very rare that you are going to win a game with only 9 points of offense. Hardy was arguably the sole reason why they got to 12. What you absolutely don't do is hang the defense out to dry after they block a FG attempt. Three runs and a cloud of dust...then guess what defense? Back to the front...again. Fatigue is the leading cause of mistakes, both mental and physical (coordination). By the fourth quarter, I would say that the potential for mistakes increases markedly...you saw that as the Cowboys repeatedly lost containment of Wilson on the final drive. Meanwhile, the Dallas offense contributed a net total of -1 yd (including the the sack and false start penalty on the final drive) for the entire 4th quarter. The entire fourth quarter production occurred via McFadden (3 yd reception and 7 yds on 3 carries).
The coaching of Garrett and Linehan hasn't been a parody for an extreme sense of urgency...something they should have developed the second Romo went down. One must wonder if they have indeed left no stone un-turned in Romo's absence, because at least on the surface, it appears an apocryphal conclusion.
why hang the defense to dry? how come teams like Denver can be dominating and holding Rodgers, a sure fire future HOF to 80 yards passing, win games by getting turnovers and scoring TDs, yet we are hanging out the defense to dry..
btw, I am sick and tired of this fatigue BS....the TOP in the game was 30.5 to 29.5 for the cowboys for the game. at that point in the game. the TOP was 29.5 minutes cowboys....24 minutes Seattle. so why would the defense be fatigued? despite everything we dominated the TOP!!!!! and may I ask *** is the defense tired? why aren't they in shape to play 30 minutes of football hard....freaking seattle did. why couldn't we!!!! lets stop making excuses for this defense. they are lions in the 1st half. lions in the first 3 quarters and sheep in the 4th. their performance all year long has been pretty bad in the 4th and it has nothing to do with TOP, because in all but one game we have had the better TOP!!!!
they lost containment of Wilson on that last drive....that's the whole freaking point. they had contained him prior to that, and in that last drive they allowed 7 first downs. the first 3 quarters. they had allowed only 12!!!! so in 3 1/2 quarters of play the defense had shown ability to make crucial stops. the offense had struggled. so at 6:45 left in the game. offense struggling. 4th and 3. one point game. you take the points. and TRUST your defense....challenge your defense, take a risk with your defense based on what you have seen all day...that they will make a stop.
the whole argument is Sturm's OPINION is we should have taken a risk on that last drive...my point is that not necessarily.
and I don't dismiss the coaches from this mess. I expressed my opinion in regards to Sturm's opinion. stupid is what stupid does and this team when Romo went down couldn't afford mistakes and yet they find ways to lose the games by making mental mistakes, etc. in All but one game we had a chance to win and for intent and purposes should have. either offense, defense, special teams or all of them have combined to screw the games.
