Hughes and Knighten. Two of the second tier guys who from what I can tell will never get suspended, will give it their all, and we probably can just about afford both of them for the cost of one of the other two (okay, maybe a bit more but not much).

If Dallas decides they want a premier pass rusher, who would you rather have in this group? I think you can make a pretty strong case for any of the three:

JPP: Just turned 26. One of the most game-changing DE's in the NFL when healthy. Freak athlete.

He is only 26? I thought he was much older than that.

Suh I would give big money, he's a RKG off the field. He seems to have enough control on it. He comes of probation then stomps Rodgers leg, but kept his not clean until then. It wasn't a loss of control, he just plays mean and dirty.

JPP is only healthy against Dallas and Hardy has a major off the field issue dwarfing Petersons and Rice's.

In the 50-70's era Suh would be just another mean football player. I am sure Butkus or Mean Joe Green didn't do any of this stuff (smirk).

Love to see Suh but probably cost prohibitory. Hardy be great too. This D needs an IMPACT defender and I doubt it will come from the draft this year.

None of the above. Too much money and commitment. Build through the draft like the o line

If you want impact over next two years then you better be looking at FA defender. At 27 pick there's unlikely an impact DL left. I read somewhere that 1st rounder DL average about 2 sacks in their 1st yr. So if you want a Haley type impact guy, odds are not in your favor via draft.

I'm concerned that Hughes benefitted from the other 3 really good players on his DL. He didn't do much before he came to Buffalo.

Knighton (Denver) looks like more a a run plugger than quick twitch Marinelli type DL. I think Josh Brent can fill that role.

Just so people know Hardy domestic violence case was dismissed today which means he will be able to play. Sign on a Melton type contact and go from there. Hardy is a beast

Suh: Maybe the most dominant DT in the NFL. RKG?

Hardy: 13 sacks in 2012, 14 in 2013. Can line up as both the LDE and RDE.

JPP: Just turned 26. One of the most game-changing DE's in the NFL when healthy. Freak athlete.

Personally, I would love to see what Rod M. would be able to do with a healthy JPP. I think he's just starting to hit his peak years.

Who would you pick?

If I HAVE to pick, Hardy. If I don't have to pick, none of them. I like how we've been home-growing talent.

Sign Hardy and Fairley.

Lawrence, Crawford, Fairley, Hardy

That would be a great DL. Can we afford both though?

If I had to choose one it would be Hardy. Wouldn't touch JPP due to his injury history. Suh is the best player but his price is waaay too steep.

Hardy, since his case is dismissed
Suh would be good too but his price will be higher and DE is harder to find than DT
No JPP, DL and back injuries don't go well together and he is looking to get paid

I would say, take hardy and draft Bennet from OSU @27

Hardy/Bennet/Crawford/Lawrence

pretty good starting DL

There are plenty of options that don't involve us overpaying for the top available guys. Nor do we need a rookie to come in and get 10 sacks right away.

I would take JPP and Suh if we could. suh is probably the most dominant DT in the game today. and despite the knuckle headedness, its not about off field issues, but on field brain farts he has from time to time. Under Schwarz who was a knuckle head coach himself, Suh got into most trouble. He played hard and under control this past year under new coaching leadership. I think with Dallas, the cast of strong characters, he could be more easily controlled.

I pass on Hardy because of the attention he would bring and the impact to locker room chemistry.

I would take JPP, but with a friendly contract, given he has had back problems. but when healthy, he is a freak, plus he would add to our team and take away from division rival.

I am sure everyone is all for that type of option if you can find it. There's a reason why the top guys cost so much because they are known entities. You can speculate who can be able to get you 10 sacks but then you are just projecting and hoping.

Hardy, then draft 2 DL in the first 2 rounds.

Now that is a DL that I can work with...

In Madden.
