So basically this writer believes that a young pro-bowl WR is worth 15 spots in the first round.

I'd do it if they'd take Romo off our hands as well. Whaddya say gang. A fresh start?

Only if we get Pennington with that deal. We won't be left empty handed at QB.

That's a ridiculous trade. If Austin had to go--which he won't--we would take (not swap our picks for) Miami's #1 and #3.

exactly, the way OP has it would be a steal for the Fins

We're in the crazy season of NFL rumors and tea-leaf reading. For instance, CNN/SI's Peter King is reading Tim Tebow and his agent's refusal to talk meaning Tebow will go between draft slots 28 and 45 (I agree.)

Other reports say the Dolphins are asking for a third-round pick for Justin Smiley. Huh? They don't want Smiley because of injuries. Yet they're supposedly asking other teams for a third-round pick for him? No chance of getting that. As I said when Smiley was told he was gone, they'll be lucky to get anything for him at all.

The most interesting rumor for Dolphins interests is that Dez Bryant will work out for the Cowboys, according to ESPN.com Joe W. tipped us off to this one.

Dez Bryant won't be there for the Cowboys at No. 27. He might not be there for the Dolphins at No. 12. But if he is, doesn't this workout support another trade between the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and his former employee, Bill Parcells?

Swap of first- and third-round picks and the Dolphins get Miles Austin?

Essentially, it'd be Austin, the No. 27 pick and Cowboys third-round pick to the Dolphins for No. 12 pick (Bryant) and Dophins' higher third-round pick.

Looks too good to be true, meaning it probably is.

Then again, Parcells and Jones made two draft-day trades in 2008. A Dolphins' fourth-round pick went for Anthony Fasano and Akin Ayodele. The teams swapped sixth-round picks and the Dolphins got Jason Ferguson. Those were pretty good deals for the Dolphins.

who in the hell would think this is too good to be true unless too good for dolphins which then yeah. But I am not sure even Cowboys' management would make that big of a blunder for a trade.

getting rid of austin for a high draft pick that would grab a wr anyways is just dumb.... ooops i mean intellectually challenged.

Good Lord, my IQ just dropped 50 points from reading that dribble.

We are going to trade a probowl WR & 27th pick to Miami for freaking Dez Bryant???

The same Dez Bryant that scouts say cant get out of bed for practice and has actually showed up late on game day. We are not talking late in terms of 5 min late for pregame warmups, we are talking about the freaking game has already kicked off and Bryant is not even at the stadium yet!!!!!

Miles Austin and the 27th pick for Mr. Sleepy and swapping 3rds.

Wow, just wow.

Wow. I had thought you might be joking. If you have such a low opinion of Parcells and Johnson, there isn't much left to be said.

I don't have a low opinion of them. On the contrary, I think of both of them with the highest regards and I thank both of them for the contributions they made to the Dallas Cowboys.

What I will NOT do is act like either or both of their groupie and pretend they did, or meant, more than what they really did.
