While we want leadership on this team, calling out your QB is never the right thing

Someone has to. Seems to me both Eli Manning and Joe Flacco were challenged more than a few times by the leaders of there respective teams. Worked out pretty well for both of them.

Not Hatcher's fault someone else on this alleged "team" is a friggin snitch.

Well we ran on first and goal at the 1 last week and lost a yard. Then we threw to Dez for a TD. So it's not just on Romo, the oline and Murray have to show they can get it done. I think they will today.

Rams have very good DL with Quinn, Long and Brockers. This unit is only allowing an average of 2 yards per carry so far this season. It will not be easy running against this team. Also very good at pass rushing but Rams secondary is boom or bust - Jenkins + Finnegan love to gamble so it could be six in either direction on any play.

That said the pass is still our best weapon especially because we want the ball in the hands of our best offensive players - Dez & Witt.

Publicly calling out team mates is not a good leadership trait. It should be done in private. I'm all for that.

Where does it say that he called him out in public? If he said it in a team environment and it got out, then its not his fault that this team cant keep its mouth closed.

Broaddus just tweeted that Hatcher didn't call out Romo but spoke post practice encouraging Romo and Witten to continue to lead..

Is this really how it went down or is this just in-house spin? I'm leading towards Broaddus' take since the outside media likes to embellish the truth somewhat...
Whatever the case I'm all for runnIng but if its not effective what's the use? Until the backs get some running lanes AND actually see those lanes it's a moot point.

actually he's not doing what the coaches are telling him to do. did you not listen to jason's PC this week. romo is audibling out of run plays.

Romo has authority to change as he sees fit so if he's suppose to be involved in game planning ie his new contract. Then what's with the dinks and dunks ? We're s the Romo who we come to live the gunslinger ? It's like he morphed into a back up trying to manage game . Don't get me wrong I'm all for it but the defenses tend to pick up on it after awhile . Come on it's what made him and now he's lost . Unless the ribs are hurting still .

Yup NFLN made a big deal about it. Of course right before bashing the Cowboys for not running they said Eli should keep slinging it even though he has 7 picks

If I remember correctly, doesn't running the ball consistently also wear the defensive front down? Sure would make passing the ball easier. Even if it's 3 yards per carry. Take the KC game for instance. Jamal Charles didn't do much but, all the sudden in the 4th quarter he wore us down which lost us the game. Commit Dallas! Commit!

Hatch needs to call out the OL, Murray and Dunbar too.

Defense has no business at all talking about offense. That stuff ruins teams.

Of course, I doubt he did call Romo out.

Sometimes defense is the only one that can. They are the only ones that don't have a horse in the race.

Everyone did notice in the article it stated after an audible and near PICK SIX Hatcher said something to Romo. So perhaps what Tony thought he saw was not there which we saw last weekend with Dez being 1 on 1 and Romo throwing a screen to Williams. Hatcher sees the wrong decision and probably everyone on the team in practice (none of us) saw him make a wrong read also and said the same thing amongst themselves. It is apparent they are wanting eachother to use their best judgement but if this were a game and it was a pick six in that situation everyone here would be screaming about why this team has no one making Romo accountable. Well somene did... He gave Romo something to think about next time he thinks he seessomething thhat isnt there, and more than likely stung the olines behinnd cause its their fault Romo wants to audible.

I love Hatch stepping up and taking leadership. We need a Ray Lewis type (without the stabbings lol).

That said we need to run WELL not just more - easier said than done. I think we will see a fired up Oline and Murray today.

I bet Hatcher and Romo are cool. Nobody is above critique....though I bet Romo doesn't yell at Hatcher in practice for making drive extending penalties.

Romo didn't call nearly as many audibles in this game as the previous two weeks. The offense was a lot better today. I'm not sure that was a result of the him not calling audibles or because we played the Rams. The offense had me nervous after they missed that field goal though. Probably to many close games over the years.

hatch is a good dude. i have no clue why some people took this thread the wrong way. this is not like t.o. calling out romo behind his back. hatch did it to his face and like you said they are 100% cool with each other. some people get too sensitive anytime romo is criticized.
