Super Bowl is over, now time to focus on 2025 Cowboys

Now that the SB is over. I will not be watching any sports shows about it.

We can now focus on the 2025 Dallas Cowboys. Yes, this thread too, will be taken over from negativity. But we all know why that will be also. The FO deserves it.
I will start it out below.

However, we got a new HC, and what seems to be, as he is putting together a decent young, new staff. That is the good thing, but that excitement won't be until game 1, or maybe in TC and PS games. As we have no idea what their impact will be.

Also, we have the same FO, yes, negative, and deserved. So will they allow the new coaching staff to succeed, or will they not give them anything to work with.
That is always still good to see how the roster is built.

Now we can focus on the NFL combine, then FA. Though it will be, what players we like to keep more so than what players from other teams do we like, that can make an impact. What players do they let walk.
Then the NFL draft, which seems light years away, without any great FA news, other than our own guys.

I am just glad this last lame season is over. Right now I care less about any other team, or how they were built, or what direction they go. Only concerned with Dallas and moving forward.

All depends on what they do, or not do, in March. I doubt a majority of posters want some drunk shopping spree.
I would be content with some mid level signings, getting either an average to above average starters the first week of Free agency.
Not make it obvious to Hellen Keller to what positions the front office is gunning for high up in the draft. Get Parsons re-signed ASAP.

Get some vets on the defensive line, especially DT. Find another linebacker. Maybe another WR to push the young guys/2025 draftee for playing time. Sign a RB to have an actual competition.

If it's the same ole, signs someone in week 3, stupid quotes about when they will re-sign Parsons and Smith, then we know how this story will go.

I expect most of all the news this off season will be about the Parsons Contract. I do not expect the Cowboys to do a lot if any real significant FA signings of other teams players or trades. They will likely use what cap space they have on Parsons and signing their draft class and retaining some of their own free agents. Same ole' stuff.

Meanwhile the Eagles will be looking for a new OC and improving an already competitive roster. Roseman is an absolute master GM. Also, Quinn and Co. will be busy working to upgrade the Commanders in the same fashion they did last off season. I am not encouraged about the Cowboys' prospects for the near future.

The team is gong to make Micah the highest paid defensive player in NFL history , and then Jerry is going to take a victory lap parading the contract as proof of his willingness to spend whatever it takes. The man has never understood his job, and I don't suspect football wisdom is going to strike this offseason either.

Depending on how free agency plays out this may be a season I skip again

I can’t watch them sit on their hands and not atleast trying to fill the holes on the roster

Also I don’t know if Howie Roseman is a genius or he just doesn’t give up

Kinda like a team that strikes out a lot but has the most home runs because they don’t let the strike outs make them give up

Giants.... Qb coming and $45 under cap

Cowboys...bloated overpaid, underachieving players, inexperienced HC, key players off injuries, soft culture, soft defense, worst GM in the NFL, no #1Rb, no #2 WR, no #1 LB, no #1 DT.....we battlin for da cellar.

Time to focus on not being there again! But this off season will be a doosy again, Micah will be in the headlines about his contract dispute, Jerry will say something crazy, Stephen will say something else. In the end, Micah will be the highest paid!!! Don't fall for the bait!!

I like the coaching staff they put together. I think they need to get younger and better at safety, add a WR, add a LBer, add a RB and most importantly get much, much better on both sides of the LOS. Is that possible in one season for the only team in the league that doesn't understand free agency? I don't think so, so maybe focus on 2026...

Teams with GMs like the Rams and Eagles have learned that they can reboot and retool to get back a competitive team in 2 to 3 years......Dinosaur GMs like Jerry haven't figured out quite how to do that

so they will sign parsons to a huge contract. claim they are no hadicapped. low ball Osa who is going to go to Washington who will over pay for him to take him away from us and strengten themselves.
we will sign a couple of bottom of the barrell DTs. Jerry will talk about Mazi and pump him up by saying he saw a lot of progress and he feels good about him.

we will draft Jeanty in the first round, just imagine the number of Jersey's Jerry will sell even before he takes his first snap. a cowboys legend in the making already. Jeanty will have an average season.
he will draft a DT in the second round, reaching because we lost Osa.

Guyton will continue to struggle. but Jerry will defend the pick.

2025 is another disaster waiting to happen.
