Super Bowl is over, now time to focus on 2025 Cowboys

The team is gong to make Micah the highest paid defensive player in NFL history , and then Jerry is going to take a victory lap parading the contract as proof of his willingness to spend whatever it takes. The man has never understood his job, and I don't suspect football wisdom is going to strike this offseason either.
Do you think he'll keep everybody on the edge of their seat all through the off season and then sign Parsons about 30 minutes before kickoff on opening weekend?

Many will watch it as one views a train wreck.

Eagles.................nuff said
Skins....baller Qb and WILL use FA
Giants.... Qb coming and $45 under cap

Cowboys...bloated overpaid, underachieving players, inexperienced HC, key players off injuries, soft culture, soft defense, worst GM in the NFL, no #1Rb, no #2 WR, no #1 LB, no #1 DT.....we battlin for da cellar.
It won't be much of a battle lol.

Some of y’all have an optimism about this team that was ripped away from me years ago…it’s hard to believe any positive forecast about this team as long as LoPan and his kids are running this organization…the 2025 Cowboys will be similar to the 2024 Cowboys…they will spend as little as possible to “fix” this team and trot a “winner” out there in Sept…

FA will tell me all I need to know about this team. They have massive holes to fill, and by the end of FA going into the draft, we’ll see what “GM” skills our “GM” has smh…if we ALL know what/who they’re drafting, they ain’t done ish smh (pardon my French)

I'm trying to be optimistic, but it's really hard to do with these Cowboys. I won't dog our new coaching staff. I hope they can turn things around. My concern is if Jerry will help them with acquiring FA's, and not the bottom of the barrel guys. And draft some good players. So, far now, I'm going to be cautiously optimistic...Until FA and the draft....then we'll see if that changes.

The staff personnel that I've noticed were very reputable and experienced people. Whether or not our front office allows the team the opportunity to excel as players or not surely remains to be seen in the future.

The Cowboys' FO isn't one that has displayed a willingness to avail this team of the highly capable players in veteran free agency that they might have. They insist on hiring tier-3 free agents, who rest at the bottom of the totem pole, in terms of talent.

Management chooses to specialize in acquiring players who command low contractual expense. That's routinely what they prefer. Whether or not they'll ever abandon that policy or not seems doubtful. It will take a miraculous turnaround in this FO's willingness to spend enough to acquire a team capable of championship-caliber performances. Languishing in slightly better than average performance has become a standard practice.

Now that the SB is over. I will not be watching any sports shows about it.

We can now focus on the 2025 Dallas Cowboys. Yes, this thread too, will be taken over from negativity. But we all know why that will be also. The FO deserves it.
I will start it out below.

However, we got a new HC, and what seems to be, as he is putting together a decent young, new staff. That is the good thing, but that excitement won't be until game 1, or maybe in TC and PS games. As we have no idea what their impact will be.

Also, we have the same FO, yes, negative, and deserved. So will they allow the new coaching staff to succeed, or will they not give them anything to work with.
That is always still good to see how the roster is built.

Now we can focus on the NFL combine, then FA. Though it will be, what players we like to keep more so than what players from other teams do we like, that can make an impact. What players do they let walk.
Then the NFL draft, which seems light years away, without any great FA news, other than our own guys.

I am just glad this last lame season is over. Right now I care less about any other team, or how they were built, or what direction they go. Only concerned with Dallas and moving forward.
I think that would be tomorrow I think the city of Dallas right now is really I mean think about this what's happened recently the Texas Rangers finally won a championship then have a terrible year mostly due to injuries but other factors they weren't very good in 2024 Dallas Cowboys same thing lots of injuries lots of crazy things happen weren't very good Mavericks look like they had a great offseason look like they were on a roll they lose Luka for a long period of time started having a whole bunch of injuries in 2024 that all of a sudden we wake up one day and Lucas traded for a bag of chips I know it was a good bag of chips and then after all the blowback starts to calm down and Anthony Davis just starts to play he now he's out for probably a month more injuries more craziness I know it's 2025 now but the season started in 2024..

Now all this to add insult to injury Washington and the eagles play in the NFC championship game the eagles go out and just throttle the chiefs and win a Super Bowl yes I realize it's 2025 and I realize we need to look ahead but 2024 was a kick in the nuts to most Dallas sports fans..

So it's very difficult to look ahead how about we let this thing marinate a little bit let it calm down let the smoke clear Yep I'm sure philly's on fire right now and let's get to the actual league year where they can start actually making moves and I don't know the rules on this when they can start signing their own players or put new contracts or extensions but my guess it's it's gonna be a couple weeks from now if not a month from now so we've already discussed last offseason discussed a lot in the middle of the year what could happen with this offseason but let's get the offseason actually here and let these things just settle down because right now it's kind of mental gymnastics trying to ignore all this right now..

Cowboys fans will need to be patient. The Eagles assembled a great team, maybe the best team since the CAP was implemented, and it will take time to catch up to them. Now that the Eagles won the SB, their players will get a lot of attention and their value will increase. Case in point, Milton Williams is a free agent now and he showed up in the game last night. He made himself some money. I think he will be the top DT target in free agency. I don't care how good Howie Roseman is, they will struggle to keep that team intact. At the same time, the Eagles will be drafting last so they are at a disadvantage there. But, there are two problems with that. First, the Eagles seem to find talent wherever they draft. I don't see them picking another Jalen Carter, but They will find good players to fit into their roster around Jalen Carter. The other thing is, the Eagles have ever been shy about trading players to move up in the draft or add draft picks. Don't be surprised if they try to move up in the first round to select a player they want.

One other thing, when the Eagles have a weakness to address, they are aggressive about addressing it. When their secondary sucked, the signed Slay and Bradberry. Then they drafted Mitchell and Dejean because they knew Slay and Bradberry had a limited shelf-life. Before that, the drafted Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter in consecutive years because they knew Cox was getting older and Hargrave would be a free agent. This is something the Cowboys should emulate. This year the draft is good for DTs. But I don't expect the Cowboys to draft one before the 3rd round. Sure they need other players but this may be the best chance to find a couple of stud DTs they will have. They won't do it.

In any case, I think the best they can do it prepare to compete in 2027. It will take a couple of years of good drafting, and some judicious free agent acquisition next year to rebuild the disaster Jerry created. As I posted, the Eagles have $418 million in pro-rated bonuses in voidable years on 16 contracts right now. In 2029, they will have $178 million of that hit and by that time they will have to sign some of their young players. Roseman will truly have to be a genius to keep this team competitive while dealing with this problem.

Jerry, get down to business cause this hurts(I don’t know how to apply the pun)

I have to stomach living in the Philly area. No TV, No radio for six month. All local channels blacked out for me. Let's skip to March.

I prefer beating on the dead horse...I think he's possessed, he keeps coming back to life!

I know many don’t like the new staff but to me they are not really important. No coach could have taken last years team to the SB.its about the roster. It’s about bringing in 5-6 new impactful players through the draft and FA. That’s what’s gonna really determine how good we are. We need talent

That’s what he does. It’s really the wrong approach but he loves the drama more than just making good football moves. We need a lot of talent added and getting Micah done should be asap. Then start working on building a competitive roster. I

i would not be shocked to see a 4 - 5 win season next year...if my memory serves me, i think we have 10 games against playoff teams and play the 2 hardest divisions in football plus ours....might want to just focus on 2026 at this point.

We can have the 1992 roster and many will still predict a losing season.

Jazz, I’m ready to see and believe something positive about our Cowboys. But it requires suspending reality to think with this front office “leadership” that we have any reason to believe “this year is going to be different”. I want this team to succeed and build something competitive. But I can’t pretend I don’t know who’s in charge.

Put it this way: I’m open to being positive. Just give me a realistic reason to have some positivity about 2025. In my view we will probably be better than last year but the fundamentals remain the same. Our GM and his entitled sidekick son literally don’t get it. They don’t know to build a great roster in the cap era. And their gigantic arrogance blinds them from seeing or admitting their obvious mistakes.

Is there something positive I’m missing? Asking for a friend who would like to believe something positive, lol.

But we don’t have the 1992 roster.

...I'll say will have better year. Back to playoff table.

We might even surprise many.
