I watched because it's 7 months until the next meaningful kickoff...I wish other fans hated us for the same reason they hate the Pats...5 titles in 16 years...

They hate the Pats because they cheat and Belichick is a jerk. The hate in the 90s for the Cowboys was nothing like what the Pats get nowadays.

People like to watch the Cowboys lose but they are entertained. People do not want to watch the Pats at all.

$5,000 buy in for a fantasy league?

Dam..............that's hardcore

Yep.

There's a popular sports bar/club in NY called the 40-40 Club. Their fantasy football league consists of people like Jay Z, Puffy, LL Cool J, Derrick Jeter, Jery Seinfield, etc.

The buy-in is 100K - 1 million to the winner.

I'm pretty sure I'd be on the waiver wire all day for that kind of jack.

Actually, they are not down at all.

According to The Wrap, which is a television industry standard, the numbers were huge and only trailed 2015. Across the board, from online streaming and even foreign. I think the writer may have jumped the gun on early returns.

Here's the article from Monday evening...

The ratings were still way down.....it got a 45.3 which is the lowest since 2010 and second straight decline from a high of 47.5 in 2015

Overall viewers were OK and 18-49 was solid but the ratings were definitely down

I stream even if I like the product. I was forced to watch a Spurs game last night in real time and after watching the same Bud commercial for the 6th time I wanted to scream.

If the advertising industry changes their business model then maybe but I will not watch ads if I can avoid it.
thats the bad thing about commercial, is that most are so bad.
I once read it was intentional for some reason I dont remember.
I drink dr pepper, but have always hated their ads, never saw a good one.
Geico ads drive me crazy too, but they must work, because they never slow down.

I used Geico once and it actually cost more, so I went back to other ins co.......Geico sucks, and so do their ads.

I now have a PC/TV so I can switch to pc mode during commercials, I just time them, usually 2 min.

Streamed it.

If I watch nowadays, I stream. Until the NFL shows they care about the product they're selling by hiring full-time officials at the least, I won't be purchasing anything.

That would be a start to clean up this mess Goodell has created.

Although I don't believe there is a conspiracy against Dallas despite some poor officiating against our team in the playoffs, the league might want to consider reversing that trend to try to "help" the Cowboys reach the big game because of the ratings draw.

Overlooking that poorly called unsportsmanlike conduct, calling the interference on Witten at the goal line and calling illegal contact instead of pass interference when Rodgers had not released the ball would have helped, and they would have been correct calls.

Bottom-line, Falcons are boring as hell. I even lost interest as a big time football fan because the opposition was pathetic. And then they went about proving me right.

Nobody cares outside of Georgia! They blew it and remind every one of the 1997 -98 losers they are, but worse!

Someone is an idiot if they didn't care about the Superbowl or had something better to do?

I had to clean out my lint screen and start my taxes. Much better use of time than watching a non-Cowboys NFL fiasco.

I told my wife and high schooler how the game would turn out, and have a text from before the game with the same info sent to my son at college for evidence. Nailed it right down to a holding call to push the Falcons out of FG range on a game sealer. It wasn't hard to figure out really once you think about it. This is a multi-Billion dollar enterprise with ratings starting to drop. They needed a dramatic Brady finish to give the networks a compelling storyline to talk about this offseason. Atlanta has like 2 fans outside Georgia. No way a team like that could win this year.

A tweet I sent out

Yes, I think something is very fishy.

Tennis is sport where competitors used to be washed up at 28. Dan Marino had nothing left at the end. Elway's tank was at empty. 15 years later, it looks like Brady could play another 10 years at age 39. BS.

It ain't just these 3 either.
Are you saying professional sports are rigged so that older athletes can win?

Owners like Jerry Jone$ has pimped the league to levels it's difficult to maintain in a society which the NFL players demographic isn't well represented amongst society.

Some of the same reasons the NBA lost some of its appeal to larger audiences.

The personal conduct and personalities is a huge turnoff for much of America and why Goodell is taking such efforts to control.
