We turned off the TV during halftime and had the kids dance to some old Michael Jackson stuff.

It was quite cute.

 how many songs did the who sing??? Two or three artist or groups singing one of their best selling songs isnt gonna make the half time show extend any longer than what it is now. You make one show that encompasses the groups songs in it
hell, the game would be over before they would quit crying over who got to take the stage last.

I hear the Monkees will be the halftime show in 2011. Sounds like you'll turn the TV off next year as well. ;)

If that's the case, then you're probably right.

better than Michael Jackson?

Technically, that was last century.

I thought U2 was excellent in 2002 (especially with the 9/11 tribute with 'Where the Streets Have No Name').

I'm only 30, but I would agree that most music today sucks sack. The Who was okay tonight, but past rock acts like Tom Petty, Bruce, etc. were better, a little more spirited yet skew the generation gap a bit better.

I would have liked to see Van Halen (original lineup only please), but that will likely never happen.

Again, it only sucks if you let it, tons of great band out there.

I still say they were piping in Michael Anthony's voice on their last tour.

Right, most being the key word. The garbage being pushed down our throats (Lady Gaga, autotuned sensitive thug drivel, songs that are a series of simply tones in different keys) pales into comparison to a band like Explosions in the Sky.
