There are still some much worse starters than Scott still on the roster. It all comes down to getting the best 53 men possible, what is available and what positions you need to fill.
I felt last year that Quincy Morgan for Antonio Bryant was a big step in the WRONG direction.
I felt that last year Eddie George for Troy Hambrick was a big mistake.
I felt that Vinny could not do nearly as good of a job as Quincy Carter with our non existant pass protection.
Last years changes were for the most part failures, this year I think we are doing the right things. I do not think Bledsoe is the Qb of the future but I feel more confident with him than Vinny. I still think it was a huge mistake not to put Henson or Romo in the last 8 games of the season last year to see if they have what it takes and give them game experience.
This year I see all of the changes as improvements and I expect the Cowboys will be a totally different team from last year. Curly

Crying for Lynn?

Mainly because Lynn Scott has bore the brunt of negative comments for the last few years. I think we're just trying to put it in perspective when somebody trashes the guy - who was just an honest, hard working and dedicated professional. (Who coincidentally was not up to the expectatons of us all).

I've been laughing at some of the critical comments, but I still respect the guy.

...you should be directing your anger at Jerry Jones and Dave Campo. Lynn Scott has nothing to do with his being on the Cowboys roster. He has absolutely nothing to do with the wages he was paid.

From my vantage point he gave this team exactly what they wanted, a versatile swing man at the safety positions while playing a prominent role on special teams.

He was released for salary cap reasons and he was always going to be fighting for a roster spot as Parcells tried to churn the bottom as much as possible. Problem was Parcells could never find an yone else in the league who could match up to Scott. In this league that's pretty impressive.
Hmmm....if he gave the team what they wanted then why did they cut him from a position that we were thin at? The reason Scott is cut had nothing to do with our salary cap other then he was stealing money ;); our salary cap is in excellent shape, did you forget? The reason he was able to steal money for so long is indicative of how poor our talent level has been in the past, thank Gawd this is a new day. From your “vantage point” surely they could have gotten a trade because of his versatility. I betcha the teams are lining up on the waiver wire as we speak.

I stand by what I said, he stunk and the team is better that both he and the likes of Dixon are no longer a part of it. I enjoy a feel good story as much as the next guy but when the game is on the line I rather not rely on Rudy, I rather rely on a guy with talent to make the play.

There is sure is lot of people apoligizing for Scott's poor play. I'm wandering whether these folks are really Cowboys fans. I would imagine that he's a very nice guy outside of football.....within it, he's a bum.

Because they finally had a better option - Davis. I notice you didn't gripe last year when he was playing behind Dixon as depth.

Wrong! The reason why he was cut is because they needed to get down to 53 players and Lynn Scott didn't justify one of the spots. He wasn't stealing anyone's money. Yours, mine, nor Jerry's. The only stupidity you should be pointing out here is Jerry's. He's the one who figured out Lynn Scott's value, no one else. Also, if he was swiping money why the hell don't you castrate and skewer Parcells. He let the guy stay here for two freaking years! What kind of lame *** coach is this guy?

The reason he was able to steal money for so long is indicative of how poor our talent level has been in the past, thank Gawd this is a new day.

Once again close, but no cigar. The reason why he stayed so long on the "53" was the state of our talent level, but you make it out as if it was his fault. Yeah right, Scott was in the war room drafting players the past six years when our safety positions began the downslide. he sure as heck was to blame for the past five years of cut day that determined our choices for opening day talent.

From your “vantage point” surely they could have gotten a trade because of his versatility. I betcha the teams are lining up on the waiver wire as we speak.

I expect him to get picked up as a back up player at the safety position who can contribute on special teams. The next team will get him for the vet minimum. Don't be surprised if a team now sees him as a insurance plan, nothing more nothing less.

I stand by what I said, he stunk and the team is better that both he and the likes of Dixon are no longer a part of it. I enjoy a feel good story as much as the next guy but when the game is on the line I rather not rely on Rudy, I rather rely on a guy with talent to make the play.

He stinks as much as Andre Gurode, Leo Carson, Eric Obogu and any other Cowboy who was on this team last year as a special teamer and depth but couldn't cut the mustard as a starter. If you were asking him to be in the top ten free safeties there may be an obvious issue, but to be ranked in the top 100 of safeties in the NFL he may right there.

I don't get your anger towards him. He didn't pull a Hunter, he definitely didn't advertise something he wasn't ala Dixon and I personally have never read anything about this guy being a locker room cancer.

What's the big deal with getting worked up about this guy? Everyone is sadly mistaken if you want to pin last year's poor showing on this guy.
