It’s not about the cap, it’s about the roster size. Geez. You don’t understand a lot of things. If you pay attention, I’m one of the ones that always says cap Doesn’t matter you find a way so.

thats my point
There are 2 players on this defense you cut yesterday to have a chance at a SB

If the Eagles are healthy we absolutely have to be healthy to be able to compete.

Then we have to hope our coaching staff does not undermine our best efforts running a fade into the Sun , Not stressing that your players get out of bounds leaving time on the clock for the opponent to come back.
Using going for it on 4th down as some type of a game plan McCarthy needs to get it together at the end of these games.

We should have been able to go in for a touchdown at the end there or run the clock down to next to nothing and be out of there.

If we were playing against Jalen Hurts instead of Gardner . Things could have been painfully different as there was plenty of time and he could have used his legs.

Was very glad to see we had the penalty situation under control we won the turnover battle handily.
But at this level you can't have these coaching mistakes in the playoffs You're just not going to win

The Cowboys front office sorely needs to get considerably bolder when it comes to adding better quality players in the offseason. That much is patently obvious by the improvements that the Eagles have made, as compared to ours. Until Jerry and Stephen learn to extend their vet free agency to better heights, the playoffs will be a tough nut to crack.

Here's hoping we're fortunate enough to see a front office ready to make such improvements. Until then, the playoffs might well continue to be a burden too heavy to manage. I sincerely hope I'm wrong about that, although, the proof is in the pudding and has been for the past two and a half decades, plus. Let's keep hoping for better things to come. Baby steps.

Absolutely. The FO just has not done enough to help our guys after they earned help with their great play earlier in the year

Problem is arguably their best rusher was not playing in the game.
Jalen hurts although the quarterback has 750 yards and the most touchdowns on the team with 13 rushing touchdowns

That 87 would probably have been much more like 140 if hurts was playing today and that's what we have to prepare for in the playoffs where Suh and Joseph could have helped us for basically a ham sandwich and Jerry chose not to move on it.
true, but we have had tons of injuries too that's impacted the defense and the offense.....

parcells use to say, churning the bottom of the roster.....that's what they did. nothing significant, but enough to make a difference in a few plays

Surprised on both ends….that Minshew could put up so many against us, although I will say he’s like Fitzpatrick and borderline starting caliber on a bad team,…but also that we put up so many points. The eagles don’t have very many weak positions…anywhere O or D.

Now everyone will say because this was a division game and the Eagles have the best record in the league why would I be surprised the game was close.

The Eagles turned the ball over four times and we're starting their second string quarterback.

The game was so close because the Eagles trenches outplayed our trenches They had six sacks and we had zero.

Dak put this team on his back and after his early mistake did everything in his power with his arm and legs to win this game for us .
Saying he was physically dominating is an understatement.

All that said our defense is somewhat of a concern because of its health The Eagles showed that they made a great move by signing Suh and Linville Joseph as they are getting roughly 40% of the defensive snaps and making an impact on their defense.

Jerry sat on his hands and let the eagles out maneuver us just when our defense was getting banged up. If we can't get healthy by the playoffs this could be our undoing letting the Eagles beat us in this chess match of defensive free agents.

They already have the best offensive line They just line up at the goal line tell everybody they're going to run and do it.

We have the talent in so many areas and had the opportunity to get the talent to take us over the top granted our coaching in the clutch is horrible poor Micah couldn't even get a timeout when the defense was totally gassed
I think it would have been nice if somebody would have let everybody know on offense to avoid going out of bounds and make the clock run I mean McCarthy could do something constructive like that.

Hey nobody's happier than me about getting a win over the Eagles on Christmas Eve but I see the foreshadowing of what's to come and it's concerning

Thoughts??

I thought your post was well written and basically hit the nail on the head per my thoughts when I watched the game last night.

My other thought watching the game is that Micah seemed to have supersonic speed chasing the QB down last year. The few games I watched this year where I could actually watch the Cowboys, and perhaps it's just me, it seems Micah doesn't have the same speed running towards the ball as he did last year.

I think with both teams being at full strength we are very competitive . Dak is not going to gift wrap a pick six to them every game and I don't believe they're going to have four turnovers.

But I do believe with the best offensive line in football and Jalen Hurts playing They are going to be able to run the ball a lot better if we play them again.
And I believe we would have had a much better chance of stopping them with a rotation of Hankins, Suh and Joseph.

At which point we would have forced them into our strength and forced hurts to have to throw and deal with our relentless pass rush.

But our front office has failed us in this chess match against our division rival and unfortunately if we meet them in the playoffs and both teams are at full strength this could be our undoing.
That is provided our coaching staff doesn't pull some horrendous blunder at the end of a game and cost us.

Very sad because we have the talent to make it to the Super bowl and the front office had the opportunity to solidify this and failed to go all in.

Pretty sure our defense FORCED the turnovers on several occasions and our offense went through the Eagles Defense like swiss cheese

Hurts only had 27 yards rushing against us in the first game. No rushing TDs

I do not understand this logic ....... when they barely beat us with Cooper Rush as QB their pissant coach was running off the field screaming at our sideline ....... but when we beat them with their backup, we are supposed to feel ashamed.

Just stupid.

I don't think we should feel ashamed at all just be aware that we need to be healthy and prepared for a different dynamic when Hurts comes back.

I'm pretty sure you're right I'm just not sure why the game was so close when our defense forced all those turnovers but after more careful examination I think the six sacks they got had something to do with it

You have to credit three of the turnovers to the Cowboys defense . Despite Seth Joyner on an Eagles post game show saying Kearse pick was a PI it wasn’t he went up top made a beautiful one handed INT . Bland what can you say he literally ripped it from the receivers hands. And Sanders fumble again aggressive defense he was stripped of the ball . The only Eagle turnover that was self inflicted was the Boston Scott Minshew handoff exchange .

In other words the defense caused these turnovers gave the offense great field position and to the offense credit they cashed in . They also gift wrapped a needless TD on The Pick 6. Greg Olsen was blunt and correct . Put some air on the ball and Schultz was wide open .

By my estimation it’s 40-27 Dallas and on a positive note the run defense has played better of late keeping Sanders bottled up and limiting Gainwell another good back out of Memphis from too much damage . Dorrance Armstrong is missed more then people realize he was a good balance in the pass rush opposite Tank . Hankins injury again he’s missed .

Last I like the aggressiveness of both Alexander the new corner ex Viking who was a high draft pick similar to Kelvin Joseph being a high pick and I think Nashon Wright the more snaps be gets the more I like what I see .

Nice read on Alexander. Will watch out more for him

Agree, he would have at least burned more clock time , and probably throw less passes, potentially negating 2 ints
