Suh and Joseph would have been great for us

Who knows but we clearly dropped the ball during the off-season not making solid moves. Moving on from Amari Cooper was a mistake. We could’ve at least tried to re-sign Cedrick Wilson. Signing Jonathan Hankins a month before Philly signed Suh may have kept us from going after him. Hankins had been a real good signing until he got hurt.

I wasn’t surprised the game was close. I figured it would be or Philly would win going away. The Cowboys have been involved in several very close games this season.

Now everyone will say because this was a division game and the Eagles have the best record in the league why would I be surprised the game was close.

The Eagles turned the ball over four times and we're starting their second string quarterback.

The game was so close because the Eagles trenches outplayed our trenches They had six sacks and we had zero.

Dak put this team on his back and after his early mistake did everything in his power with his arm and legs to win this game for us .
Saying he was physically dominating is an understatement.

All that said our defense is somewhat of a concern because of its health The Eagles showed that they made a great move by signing Suh and Linville Joseph as they are getting roughly 40% of the defensive snaps and making an impact on their defense.

Jerry sat on his hands and let the eagles out maneuver us just when our defense was getting banged up. If we can't get healthy by the playoffs this could be our undoing letting the Eagles beat us in this chess match of defensive free agents.

They already have the best offensive line They just line up at the goal line tell everybody they're going to run and do it.

We have the talent in so many areas and had the opportunity to get the talent to take us over the top granted our coaching in the clutch is horrible poor Micah couldn't even get a timeout when the defense was totally gassed
I think it would have been nice if somebody would have let everybody know on offense to avoid going out of bounds and make the clock run I mean McCarthy could do something constructive like that.

Hey nobody's happier than me about getting a win over the Eagles on Christmas Eve but I see the foreshadowing of what's to come and it's concerning

Thoughts??

Thoughts is that at this point the defense sucks. Only way they can stop someone it seems is a turnover.

Were back to Dak and Romo ball where neither of those guys has a defense and we have to score 40 a week to win.

Then we can get the shipwrited before the playoffs we might not be as dominant as we were in the beginning of the season but I think some rest and some good health to start the playoffs would give us something to work with.

We're just pretty banged up right now but the guys haven't given up they're still giving it they're all and that's why at least we're getting the turnovers

As I said in another post, it was close because of the first 10 points we gave up. Over the last 55+ minutes of the game, it was 40-24. That’s not close. Those 4.5 minutes counted though, and that’s why we were sweating the last drive. We played very good football for all but the first 5 minutes of the game, but even the stop that held the Eagles to a FG was good.

You are missing the point. When the Eagles signed those guys....they essentially announced "the Dallas Cowboys will not beat us running the football"...and thus it all goes on Daks back....which will be a problem if the defense does not generate turnovers. And I am not bashing Dak...I am saying Dak needs a running game. Nothing wrong with that. But running the ball on them is going to be tough. And yesterday we saw a lot of unfavorable down and distances because of our inability to run the ball on early downs. It requires Kellen Moore and Dak to be perfect....and when they are not....here come the pitch forks and torches....
This is truth!

It is so much safer when your offense can pound the ball and get in a lot of 3rd and shorts. Suh and Joseph made it difficult for us to get into 3rd and short. Dak, had to make play after play on 3rd and 5 or more. This is not easy for any QB to consistently do!!!

Wish we had at least picked up Suh or Joseph!!

Nice post!

I think the Eagles beat themselves to a certain extent with the turnovers. Both sides it seemed to move the ball up and down the field. I think the 3rd and 30 play was the play of the game. That pass is incomplete I don’t think the Cowboys win.
Both teams should have concerns coming out of this game. Philly’s pass defense was porous, Dak certainly carved them up; I thought Dallas’ OL/DL play needs to be better; they couldn’t stop the pass, nor bring pressure on the back-up QB until it was desperation time for Philly late in the 4Q.

Going into this off season I hope Jerry sets two goals. Sign our guys and find a stud DT
Where we are likely to pick the draft may not be the answer. I don’t know who will hit the market but I’d be all over the DT position

I hear you brother I've been pissed off since they got those guys nothing I hate worse than the Eagles getting one up on us

Yeah I was really been out of shape that we didn't resign Cedric Wilson he was an excellent team player.

But I'm excited about ty Hilton he seems like a very savvy veteran that knows the game and can help us and teach our young receivers

Sanders felt bad about the robbing the presents from the kettle celebration so he decided to give us a present in the 4th with the game on the line. So thoughtful of him.

My thoughts? You have a double standard. We played with a backup and lost the turnover battler by 3 turnovers in Philly and that game was close.

Thoughts?

I'm in hopes that by the end of the season we can get our defense healthy and draw the BUCS in the first round of the playoffs and I believe we can beat them.

And hopefully by the time the second round of the playoffs comes we will be at full strength at which point we have as good a chances as anybody to get to the championship game.

Well just enjoy this one for now and hope the Hurts injury is worse than they are letting on and if we do have to face them again he is still out. I think Minshew played well, but I'd rather have to face Minshew again rather than Hurts, but hey it's the NFL and anything is possible. Right now I just want to bask in the glow of our xmas miracle. Ahhhhhhhh feels good.

There's no double standard That was a completely different game with many different players playing that were not playing in this game it was an away game.

And I never made any comment on how I felt about that game being close.
But if we break it down that game was close in my belief because our defense was playing really well and help make up for the turnovers.
The Eagles had six quarterback sacks that made up a little bit for their amount of turnovers but not enough

Surprised on both ends….that Minshew could put up so many against us, although I will say he’s like Fitzpatrick and borderline starting caliber on a bad team,…but also that we put up so many points. The eagles don’t have very many weak positions…anywhere O or D.

Wait Wait Wait , you telling me Dak did that to a Top flight Defense ? Pappy will be appalled

I hear that brother Not much better than beating the Eagles on Christmas Eve especially where I live in Eagles country with these god-forsaken heathens that live breathe and eat hate for cowboy fans.

But I have endured over the years and will win by attrition but I will tell you it's quite satisfying and nothing would be sweeter than to beat them in the NFC championship game and go to the Super bowl.
