just heard that too....which linebacker comes off the field?
I would just exchange James for Burnett in a 4-3. We wouldn't lose any LBs. Ware would just go down to DE.

I say go for it. 90% of these guys have played the 4-3 anyway.

Quit giving out info in dribs and drabs...it's driving me nuts.
:lmao:
What was said...that Ferg can get interior push in the 4-3 and that will be our chief pass rush?

That's all he said, he likes Jason as a DT in the 4-3. They didn't talk about anything else other than that.

Also mentioned Spears' athleticism could be better served in that scheme, like it was at LSU.

Sorry for swiss cheese info, LTN. ;)

I wonder how Ratliff is doing today after practice.

We need him badly for the rotation.

No. I understand.

I appreciate you both saying what you heard.

Wow, I wonder how much 4-3 we see on Sunday.

He'd be perfect at the three-tech with his quickness. Hatcher could do it well, too.

moseley is confirming it. hatcher at end though,

The Mosley Afternoon Report New Year's edition
The most important thing to remember when dealing with a divided locker room is to make sure and keep it that way. This is accomplished by asking players subtle questions like, "Are you aware that Terence Newman hates your guts?"

As you may have heard by now, Newman told T.O. that he wasn't talking about him when he called out several teammates yesterday.

Bill Parcells delivered his popular "show-me" speech to players this morning and continued to drive home his "why not us?" rally cry.

Now, continue reading for at least five minutes of uninterrupted joy:

Let's get the T.O. news out of the way quickly. He said he still wants the ball and that the pain in his ring finger is "excruciating."...

We're hearing rumblings about a pretty significant scheme change on defense. Bill has no interest in providing details, but after talking to a couple of players in the locker room today, it wouldn't surprise me to see the return of the 4-3 on Sunday. Look for a defensive line that includes DeMarcus Ware, Marcus Spears, Jason Ferguson and Jason Hatcher. The linebackers would be Bob Carpenter, Bradie James and Akin Ayodele.

I'm not sure how much the Cowboys will use the scheme, but it's obvious they are desperately wanting more of a pass rush. The Lions have thrown 69 percent of the time and given up 58 sacks, so generating a pass rush against them shouldn't be too difficult.

It's amazing that two years into this 3-4 scheme, Parcells would be thinking about scrapping it right before the playoffs.

I think you'll see them experiment with the defense Sunday, but I have a hard time thinking they'll make a wholesale change right before the playoffs

To those that say we can't change to 4-3 why not? Belichik has flip-flopped between a 4-3 and a 3-4 many times.

I doubt we just go 4-3 from here on in, but I could see us playing it a lot in certain games and less than others. It makes it difficult teams to scheme you.

I was always surprised that we didn't show at least a little 4-3 once in a while to throw teams off.

But can they successfully pull off a blitz without telegraphing it or running into each other?
