Feels like it's safe to say at this point that he won't be playing against the giants:(

I love the uniform, the logo, the franchise but I hate the people running the team.
What would you do? He looked excellent in mini camp.

One thing they gotta cut down on is how much they make them run per day, atleast initially. It's apparently non stop defensive drills followed by special teams which is more running. Bound to tweak something, especially your first year when you don't really know how to pace yourself

I'd like to see him, since it would be fun to watch, but generally don't care if we're holding a guy out over concern about his hamstring. Given our track record for finding and developing offensive starters and key role players in Dallas over recent years, it makes no sense to get butthurt over stuff like this.

We went through the same cycle of complaints last season when Elliott only had a half dozen snaps or whatever. Right before he went on to league the entire league in rushing.

If these are the problems around here, I'd love some problems on defense. The real problem isn't with how we evaluate the talent we do have. It's with not having enough good players on that side of the ball in the first place.

Very disappointing to not have seen Switzer or Lewis play yet..

As a fan, it does suck.

At least in Switzer's case, they have seen him with the rest of the team early in the minicamps when Beasley missed time. So you sort of know what he can do there. And since he's not really competing with anyone for his return snaps, the guy is active on game day.

In Lewis' case, how can you even activate him if you've never seen him in game action or, really, playing against your own players at this level? It really stinks that he's missed so much time, because he was a guy I thought would walk in and contribute as a rookie.

Same here, but I have the feeling its going to be an uphill battle for him this year. Its already a difficult position for rookies and you cant simulate live game reps

Lewis and Switzer are not eligible to be put on PUP. They would have to go on IR with the option to return but no way you use those two exceptions before the season even starts. They will be on the 53 for sure. If Switzer is healthy, there's no reason he can't return punts against the Giants. That doesn't require a ton of reps. It's instincts and natural ability. I don't know that he would play a big part in the offense to start the season anyway but he can be worked in as the season progresses.

Lewis may be inactive to start the season because they can't take 6 corners to the game anyway. It's a long season though and they will need him. Injuries will happen and Lewis and Awuzie will get their chances to play regularly. I don't think Carroll is an entrenched starter by any means and the Cowboys play a ton of nickel and dime defense.

Why can't they go on PUP? Rookies aren't eligible ?
