GMF is a good show. TO's an idiot who has a personal vendetta against Garrett. I consider it a vote in Garrett's favor that that canker thinks he should be gone. If a terrible locker room guy like that comes out *for* you, that's when you have to wonder if the coach is doing his job or not.
I don't buy or like to hear people making injury excuses. I do think you have to evaluate coaches outside the win/loss record for specific seasons, though. What's more important is the trend. Is the team getting better/younger/more competitive? Staying the same? Or losing ground.
Either way, everybody knows the NFL is a year-to-year proposition, and Garrett needs a competitive season this year to keep his job. I believe both Jerry and Stephen want to see that happen. It's one reason I'm sort of surprised they didn't pull the trigger and get Earl Thomas in using a draft pick from next season. Maybe a 2nd for ET and a 4th or 5th? Give Jason that missing defensive piece we've still got and the team as legit a shot at an actual run in the NFC as you can and see what happens.
What would TO know about loyalty, commitment, and an effort to do things the right way?
If he was, why did five franchises essentially fire him and walk away from him entirely? He was a jackass, but he was better at doing his job than Garrett is at the one he's been given.

And as such, his opinions are worthless.Because he was a jackass - as I mentioned.

I respect your post but I don’t think ET is a missing piece that puts us over the top. He would be a improvement for sure though. We have a couple of up and coming young safeties that may surprise us. But hey, I am wrong all the time. LolGMF is a good show. TO's an idiot who has a personal vendetta against Garrett. Is mortgaging the future to save your current coach a wise move?
I'm not against trading for Thomas, but saving Garrett's job wouldn't be on my list of reasons to do it.
Specifically on that 2nd round pick in 2019, would you do it?
He's also not held responsible for the teams failure. I've never seen anything like it.We have all been saying it. JJ likes him because he is likely a yes man. He doesn’t require the power most HC demand.
Tell that to San Francisco, Philadelphia, Dallas, Buffalo, and Cincinnati.I agree.
I think the TO is a cancer crowd was overblown

my take......an owner measures success by financial performance. A GM measures success on assembling a winning football program.
Jerry wears both hats. The Cowboys make money hand over fist and have posted two consecutive "winning" seasons. In Jerry's eyes, he probably sees himself a success on both fronts so why make a change.
