Well, as the spotlight intensifies heading for post season, we have two choices, throw a lot to TO, or cut him. He isn't going to shut up, he can't.

If we cut him now, we have time to develop an offense without him, if we wait till he really goes off, (he will) there will be no time before the playoffs.

This game should tell what the coaching staff has in mind. I don't really care which way they go, use him or cut him, but the status quo isn't going to make
it.
There is NO WAY we cut him this year and i would bet that he comes back next year as well. We wouldnt cut him this year because Parcells is nearing the end and he wants the SB AT ALL COSTS, he has shown that with his behavior towards Owens. People here can kid themselves if they want but without T.O we are a playoff contender but NOT a SB contender. I personally could care less about what he says off the field because i believe our team is way too strong to let one player destroy what we are doing. And i dont believe 1 player can destroy a team when it comes to football. In other cases for example what killed the Eagles was McNabb getting hurt and having an aging D that just couldnt get it done. You should expect T.O to get the ball early and often every game for the rest of the year and into the SB!

Yep..that's what I did. I said "Ya know, I'm gonna go look for something to put down Owens today"

Did I reference you in particular?

He didn't "reference" a MLK quote.

When did a mention or an allusion to a quote NOT become a "reference"?

He's got it on the wall as you enter his home so that he can use that quote as a way to deal with his own struggles. He in fact, COMPARED the two!

I'm glad he at least chose an appropriate role model. He may not always follow his example (although MLK's private life, especially with respect to his marriage concerns wasn't a shining example either), but at least he holds enough respect for him to decorate his home with them. Do you have MLK's words hanging anywhere in your house?

Tell ya what, I'd have more respect if he WAS intentionally trying to denigrate.

You have got be kidding me! You would have more respect for him if he went on national television and sullied the name of MLK?

The fact that he is BLIND to his own words, is much more disturbing.

Please. You can go kiss his backside because he can catch (somtimes) a football. I'm not.

Where did I kiss his backside? Because I have a tendency to look at the subtleties of media projection and see its agenda?

I missed the TO interview earlier and I went to ESPN.com and I caught a portion of it on their website however, they did not show the entire interview. I saw TO mention how he was reflecting on some of his drops and he was using the excuse of not being happy for why he was dropping so many passes. My question is as the interview went on did TO go on to give the impression that he is still unhappy or was this only at the beginning of the season and now he is more of a happy camper?

I don't understand some things Owens says, other things I do.

I don't like some things he says, other things I am OK with.

The bottom line is it doesn't matter what I think, or what anyone else on this board thinks.

The only thing, and I repeat, the only thing that matters is what Parcells and Owens' teammates think.

I guess we don't actually know for sure what they think, but from all indications everything is fine in the lockerroom.

Romo speaks well of him, Parcells takes up for him in the media, and we are winning.

Are we to think that they are all lieing ?

Most people on this board don't like him, which is fine, but the only thing that matters is what is going on in the lockerroom, and what the team and coach think.

I sure don't care what Tom Jackson, Mike Ditka, Chris Berman, or Joe Buck and Terry Bradshaw think of Owens. I know they don't like him.

Only what Parcells and his teammates think matters.

Funny that nobody in the media did enough homework to show the sound bite from Parcells PC on Monday when he laughingly told us that he had run the team to death, and that they were very winded, and that he didn't think many heard his playoff speech, and that he would have to repeat it. - -unquote - -

We also know that Parcells does not spin anything, he tells it like it is. So when he say Owens hears everything he says, and that Owens could tell him 3 wks from today what he said today, that is what I believe.

Like I said, there are things he says that I don't like or understand, but what I think matters not.

A lot of issues will be settled if he plays in Dallas next year or not.

That will answer many questions.

Unfortunantly this is the type of crap that can be a distraction to a team headed into the playoffs.

Its become obvious to me that Terrell not only thinks he is bigger then the team and its coaches, but furthermore it has become obvious that Terrell is a child living in a mans body. He has mental issues that seem to make him pitty himself.

On the outside he portrays himself as a very confident, egotistical adult. I think he is the exact opposite a child in a mans body who begs for attention and approval to feel self worth. Hes like a young child who does bad things because thats the only time he gets attention from his parents.

Its no wonder only 3 teamates showed to his birthday party.

It makes you think....Why could'nt TO have his birthday party in Dallas?

Because he wanted to make thinks difficult and force teamates to "Prove" that he's important enough to leave the team in the middle of the week when they are fighting for the NFC title. The teamates decided that the team is bigger then TO's ego so they stayed in Dallas. This in turn hurt TO's ego and the interview is his way of acting out and seeking attention.

TO is in for a big surprise if he thinks Parcells is going to change his coaching style to accomidate his ego. Dont be surpirised if TO is let go after this year (Chamionship or not). No one person is bigger then the team and we as fans need support THE DALLAS COWBOYS not the TO freak show.

You are right that they will not cut him but he will get cut in the off-season for sure. Yes the eagles had more problems than T.O. but they also realize that his media outburst didnt help and your qb is more important than your loud mouth receiver.

The Cowboys will move forward this season WITH owens because they have no choice. He is a contributor this season and they will need him. But whats facinating is that Owens continues to do things and say things that are not needed to be said.

He blames EVERYTHING on other people and never looks in the mirror. He is the ONLY player that stays in the media and talks his mind.

Forget it! This is my last post on the issue. Let's get to the SB and cut the cut. I rather have Moss than T.O.

scratch that

And yep, believe it or not, I have more respect for people who consciously know what they do and are aware of what they are saying.

Imagine that.

In a case like this, it would still be next to no respect at all.

Subtleties of media projection???

Agenda?

Oh my...so Owens is the victim of an agenda propagated by subtle media projection?

Sorry, I can't continue this chat, I gotta go look for UFO's.

I think we should address ALL the questions about the TO interview in one thread and not allow TO crap to takeover this board just as are asking the Cowboys team not to allow the TO crap to take over the team!

Yeah im glad you scratched that cause at least T.O cares about winning while who knows what Moss cares about. Again i do think he's back next year although i do think that there will be a discussion between the front office to decide if they want him back. If we make the SB for sure he will be back, if Parcells retires for sure he will be back, if we lose our first playoff game and Parcells returns then i say its 50% he's back. Jones for sure i believe wants him back which at the end of the day is all that matters especially with Parcells future here in doubt

I don't think that it's that he's unhappy with the team. He's unhappy with a particular person who seems to be "leaking" information about him.

TO's blaming that person (whether it's justified or not) for his drops.

I tend to believe that even if there's a "rat in the locker room", TO should be focused on teh game as long as he is on the field.

I just dont think he's back no matter what happens this season. Especially if Parcells is back. He will not put up with him no matter what! You noticed that T.O. said how BP hasnt said anything to him and I think Owens feeling are hurt because he thinks BP is suppose to kiss his behind. But all the late to practice and sleeping in meeting and all that stuff are things that BP doesnt like but put up with from players he knows and respects.

I do think that JJ will talk to Owens and let him know to basically shut up and play. If owens doesnt then he know that his future in dallas is over after this season.

This interview I think close his door.

I didn't see the interview but my thoughts are this.

In Philadelphia, TO became a "distraction" because it was clear he had some pull with people there. It literally became a TO-vs-McNabb thing in that locker room.

When the Cowboys signed TO, all the players said, 'We're willing to give him a clean slate.' At the same time, you know they all knew what they were getting: A childish superstar.

I just never get the sense -- based on the play of this team, and how players interact with TO on game day -- that any of the guys really give his off-the-wall comments any consideration. Even the ones that hang with him off the field don't seem to be dogging it because, 'Well, TO said...'

If it ever gets to a point where TO is suspected to be swaying people against Parcells, then he must be removed from the team. Even as an ocassional TO apologist, I absolutely agree with this assessment.

But how sucseptible (sp) is this locker room to him? It just really seems to me like this locker room lets him be "TO" in the public eye without giving a damn. It just doesn't seem to affect anyone's preparation.

I mean, after every "TO distraction" the team has come out and played well.

And I think his play has been good enough to be willing to sit through the annoying comments, so long as they're not truly destructive.

I would venture to say that many many African American young men, and many African American adult men in all professional sports, ... for that matter, many many African American men all over the country draw strength and inspiration from Martin Luther King quotes.

I am sure many men take his quotes and apply to situations in thier lives.

If you find any, I'm sure they'll be trailing a "TO will be back next season" banner.

There was only one positive of today's latest televised bawl-a-thon - the door got slammed shut on this clown's return.;)
